Baldomir was outclassed on the night cmon lazy and negative im not so sure , Oscar did gas and that was a true fight but PBF wasnt going to take the fight to the bigger man he fought to a strategy to win him the fight , Hatton does what Hatton does and thats in your face he boxed him and KO'd him when the chance arose .... PBF paced the fight that night knowing hatton would fade down the stretch ... its a decent fight plan you dont have to start like a bull out of a gate you have 12 3 minute rounds to plan and win a fight ! Agreed JMM was poor match making .... but he was the bridesmaid after Pacman fell through...
I think you have your dates mixed up. JMM was Floyd's choice for a comeback after the brave Mexican lunatic called him out, post flattening Juan Diaz. Pac was preparing to fight Cotto and this was widely seen as a natural 'winner fights Floyd' scenario. I disagree with you somewhat. I think Floyd is a fantastically talented fighter (though disagree with his god-given gift pish). he picks guys he could dominate so easily (he could have made Baldomir a clinic rather than a tedious sparring session) but then chooses to sit back and stink it out. That's not what great fighters do. Whitaker, a light-hitting defensive specialist never left his opponents in doubt that they were getting schooled, and he was a true showman in the ring.

It means nothing when he lost the one and only decent fight he had at Middleweight for example Hatton beat Collazo at Welterweight but he was far from comfortable at that weight and he even admits that himself.
Not so long ago Shane Mosley was one of the names Floyd needed to face to prove his worth and since this fight has been signed its amazing how slowly but surely Mosley has went from 'real opponent' to cannon fodder. I suspect if Floyd beat Williams or Pac there would be similar theories as to why they were not such good wins afterall. Ricky Hatton believe it or not was being touted as a 'real' opponent for Floyd too. (up until he beat him that is)
Hatton was only talked up by people that had no clue about boxing or were incredibly naive/biased. One look at the Collazo fight tells any sane person how that would go. That's a lazy example. If he fought Pacquiao and stopped putting obstacles in the way nobody would discredit that. Pacquiao has proven hands down that he is a great fighter.
So the question comes why Floyd puts obstacles and ring disadvantages against his opponents? I remain unconvinced about his ATG level skills.
People are are making out that Mayweather was the only one who was putting obstacles up, Mayweather wasnt the one who asked for a $10 million weight penalty and he didnt say to Pacquiao you got to take the tests and I havent, they both were going to take the tests.
And lets face it if the sums of money these guys were earning true .. then why would a simple blood test create the whole circus to be called off !! Im not saying PAcman has taken illegal substances but his rise has been meteoric and why woudlnt you take this test for several million dollars payday ?
