    Let's face it...

I was never a fan of PBF or of his particular style. Anyone who knows me, knows that. I have also said that Calzaghe is a very good fighter, who makes for very exciting fights.

However, there is NO WAY that any unbiased party could possibly believe that Joe Calzaghe is above Floyd Mayweather pound 4 pound.

JC might be feared at 168, but Floyd would be the favorite in any conceivable fight at any weight he could currently make.

    That's the point.

nah in this instance you really dont need a full sentence the proof is int he resume...its not asaying Cal is trash no...its jsut saying he hasnt done much compared to Floyd......i mean Floyd's resume is just head over heels better as of right now. I mean 44 fights and the best three on there are Eubank Lacy and Kessler.....it just doesnt compare and if Cal beats B-Hop then he to will have a "werent in their prime" fighter on his resume. Floyds faced better comp my man by far....and the better accomplishments although i do know its unfair because Floyd started so low and Cal cant really move up that many weights.

Floyd has done more in one year than Calzaghe has done in his entire career. Two different levels of fighters.

Kessler was a bigger threat to Calz than Hatton was to Floyd. I doubt Hatton could have won with a different stratagy but he could have survived 12 rounds as did Kessler. Instead, Ricky went for broke and went out on his shield. I respect that. If anything, the last performances of Calz. and PBF close the gap a bit.

And as someone has already pointed out he's had to dig deep several times too, with crap competition.

Compare that to Jones who only had to dig deep once to win when he was weight drained and 35 years old. Good but not great is how Calzaghe should be described.

You seem to be suggesting that because Calzaghe isn't as good a fighter as Floyd then they should be ranked closer to each other on a P4P basis?

Kessler might have been a bigger threat to Calzaghe than Hatton was to Floyd, but Hatton was higher P4P than Kessler on pretty much everyones lists when he fought Mayweather. Mayweather KO'ing Hatton widened the gap if anything.

In terms of ability, it's a close call. Both are brilliant fighters.

In terms of resume, Floyd has done more throughout his career. It's hard to argue against 6 titles in 5 weight classes. However, recently, Calzaghe's win over Kessler surpasses Mayweather's win over Hatton.

Well if his resume is so great then go right ahead and list all the great wins he's had apart from one dimensional Lacy and unproven Kessler...I'm all ears. Don't even think about mentioning Eubank by the way.

Yes it does take a champion to dig deep I agree. A GREAT champion shouldn't have to dig deep against Richie Woodhall and Robin Reid though, that's my point.
