Floyd's other defense is a high guard, which he normally uses when he is coming forward walking a fighter down.

Floyd is great, but the disparity in size, power and strength would be too much for us fans to ask for him to overcome. That isn't a knock on Floyd at all. Even if GGG was a natural welterweight, he would be a nightmare for Floyd.

I'm not even sure you can say Floyd has a higher ring IQ. His style of fighting is completely different, that doesn't make him smarter. GGG has an established amateur background. He is an Olympic silver medalist. He is of the same breed as Floyd when it comes to being brought up in the fight game. He is not just an eastern euro/asian brawler that casuals would see on the surface. There are very subtle things he does while applying intelligent pressure, his punch accuracy is a testament to that. GGG is a thoroughbred.

GGG is simply too slow he can't deal with the boxing ability of PBF but what will really give him fits would be PBF's reflexes defense and athletic ability. He would be too hard for GGG to pin down and mount a successful attack against. GGG's undoing would be thinking he was the bigger man. That he could simply take PBF's punch and walk him down and grind him down. He would be sadly mistaken by thinking like this all guys who face PBF, some better and more accomplished than GGG, say that he's extremely hard to hit let alone clean and GGG would be no different he's simply too slow and would get outboxed at range and yes PBF does have the reach advantage in this fight.

Not only that the different level of comp would be a huge jump for GGG. There's a world of difference going from the likes of Stevens and Macklin and jumping in with a once in a era talent like PBF completely different levels.

    Ugh, this isn't happening.

If it was to happen, it would be Hearns/Duran all over again.

I appreciate your boxing intelligence. I agree that GGG is nightmare but im not sure skill wise he's anything that would trouble floyd or something floyd hasnt already seen. GGG looks really good but its still early. The combination of his skill and siz and punching power make it very interesting for floyd. But what we know about floyd is that size means nothin if you cant touch him. As good as GGG looks, I see NOTHING that makes me think he could out box floyd. You cant beat floyd with pressure or one punch power. It would have to acumulation of punishment. Which means you have to hit him alot. GGG doesnt have the combination of hand and foot speed and technique and timing to be able do that to floy. In my opinion JMM was the most skilled fighter PBF fought and we know what happened. IMO GGG is not mor skilled than JMM. Hes Bigger but thats irrelevant when it comes to floyd.

This is funny! He boxed Oscars ears off. You only say that because the scorecards were close but we all know about judging in the sport of boxing. I people dont think that fight was close and prolly really dont either.

Based off this argument you would have Mayweather beating Wlad, and that isn't happening.

Triple G is MW one punch power, big difference from Hatton one punch power.

Marquez has proven to be a skilled counter puncher but has looked uncomfortable against mobile opponents who force him into an aggressor role. Alveraz also falls into this category.

Triple G's skill set is more in line with Cotto and Oscar. Unlike them, he's a true Middleweight as well.

Either way, I wouldn't hold my breath. This fight isn't happening, and I wouldn't blame Mayweather for not taking it. Even Sugar Ray Robinson had limits and stayed clear of Charles, Moore, Johnson..etc.

pretty much in the same position, if ggg nails a couple more decent opponents i think my view could change from UD to idk. if that happens it could be a HUGE fight

Good points. But there is obviously a limit to the size thing. I didnt think I needed to say that but obviously there is a limit and maybe middle weight is the limit for floyd. IMO I think his limit would be super middleweight.

I'm not sure what there would be to gain from it, but I would defientely pick Mayweather to beat the more limited MW contenders like Chavez Jr.

Martinez/Mayweather would have been the match I would most like to see, but it never came about.

I agree, I wanted to see that fight too. But I think a GGG fight right now after GGG beats a past prime Martinez or aquires that belt would as big or bigger because of GGG mystique right now. They are trying to make him look like a modern day hagler and it doesnt look too far fetched at this point but its still really early as I said.

If GGG can't weigh more than 154 on fight night, of course he'd get destroyed. Idiot.

Is floyd a ****in blur or something lol? Golovkin is not that slow at all especially not his feet. You know who's slow guerrero lol. He places his punches very well and is always on balance to throw. His ****in jab alone would be a tall order for floyd to overcome because of the size and strength difference.
