this brings back a history when arum tried to make floyd fight margo and floyd left tr. gbp and showtime should be gentle on how they handle floyd or he might leave again.

 

Yeah, I'm desperate to get the type of event for boxing that this fight would provide even if Floyd were to win wide and relatively easily. I don't understand the logic of Canelo being the new boogeyman though. If Floyd had been running through all of the previous ones, then I could see how that would make sense. People didn't get that fight and Floyd didn't win that fight. It never happened. Margarito never happened. Canelo looks bleak to happen. The only semi-boogeyman taken out was Mosley. Nobody was hyped about Marquez, Ortiz, Cotto or Guerrero before they were signed except maybe DOC.

 

And do you think Floyd will be safe against a 22 years old fighter weighting 170 pounds?

I'm also a Marquez brothers fan, rooted for Palomino, Pipino, Olivares, Canto, Limon and Chacon, not a fan of Pacquio or Floyd and Canelo hasn't convince me just yet, I think the WBC and GBP are over protecting the kid and he will get his A$$ hand it to him as soon as he face a guy with skill and power, and it will be the WBC and his promoter fault...

We get the agenda, it's Lara. He's well deserving, though I must say he makes it hard on himself (Molina, Vanes). No doubt they've been shielding Canelo from him. But come on, Floyd actually holds a title at 154, unlike Lara. And a win over Floyd would get him 10x the money AND respect than a win vs Lara, who pretty much lost to Molina

I have no agenda, I don't make a penny out this but as a fan why I want to see a small guy fighting a big guy? Pacquio hold a belt at 154 and it doesn't mean $hit, if that is the excuse is a very lame, money I can understand but Floyd will not risk losing the grip, he will try to gain all advantages like always and Canelo could fight at 160, GGG, Martinez, Quillin, Geale... I remember Ray-Lalonde he went down to meet Sugar for his belt, Leonard won but doesn't mean $hit either.
PS. Lara didn't perform to expectations, the kid was sick and the fight almost never happen,they want it to cancel and he say no, Molina hug him to death and still got his face all busted up and got hurt in the later rounds, and with all and all Lara's resume has better names in his own division than the ginger kid, saying that he loss is a matter of perception, they are a lots of fans that think Canelo loss to Trout.

 

Whether the Floyd fight happens or not, Canelo will have to mix it up with the big guys, he's got 15 years in front of him. I thought his matchmaking was disgraceful, but he just took on a legit top guy, despite GBP's discouragement.

Also, don't forget Floyd is a current 154 champ, #1 contender in fact. What's more natural? Showtime needs it anyway, it's by far the biggest money fight available to justify Floyd's outrageous guarantee

Like I say Proctor, money is the name of the game and the Floyd-Canelo fight will make a ton of it, and I'll favor Floyd over Canelo, but Mayweather will ask for
some guaranties regarding the weight issue the same way Leonard did against Lalonde and Pacquio against Margarito.
