Mayweather fighting Ortiz is much better then Pacman last two opponents.

I don't think it is fair to put Ortiz in the level of Cotto who fought Pacquaio. Not at this point, atleast.

Ortiz' oppositions at 147 pales in comparison to Cotto's. He is young and good, but his only big win is against Berto, while Cotto has battled and won against the likes of Mosley, Judah, Clottey, and whose only loss, prior to Pac, was against Margarito.

He is a live body, for sure, but I don't think he will present a challenge to Mayweather, Jr. as some people here suggest. I would compare him to Mosley.

Head to head, I would favor both Mosley and Margarito that Pac faced over him.

Mosley and Margarito would both take Ortiz out in my opinion. Up until the Berto fight Ortiz was doing nothing in either 140 or 147 to suggest he was up to beating top names he got wiped bad by Meidana and could not take out old man Campbell and drew with Peterson even the Berto win is exaggerated as Berto was a paper champ for me that fight was just a meeting of prospects and not a world title fight.

Mayweather is 34 with long lay offs facing a young strong hungry fighter.

I see that there is a possibility of an upset here.

me too, ortiz is also very strong and hopefully still as hungry as a few months ago. eventhough the margarito that fought pac beats ortiz doesnt make him a bad fight at all.

Pacmans last two fight were utterly pointless and foregone conclusions im staggered that he took them and thought they were good

Maybe best thing that could happen is if Floyd blows out Ortiz and Manny looks bad against Marquez. Floyd would get some of his confidence back and I'd be able to drop some big money on Pac by stoppage...

I am extremely happy this fight has been made.

I think it's good for both guys.

His last two fights were foregone conclusions because he's the best fighter in the world, the Cotto, Hatton and Clottey fights showed this.

I don't think it's a good thing that Ortiz has a hypothetical chance to beat Floyd given Ortiz couldn't beat Lamont Peterson.
