Canelo was not a green fighter he was a seasoned world champion with 7 defences. There is really nothing Canelo can do to beat Floyd his style is predictable and he does not have the power to stop him at 154. Canelo was an easy fight for Floyd.

These aren’t mutually exclusive ideas. Canelo wasn’t green as such but he certainly wasn’t the fight he is today either. He’s improved massively. But he was already a good fighter then, just not as good.
Of course he has improved in the 7 years since but not from green to elite from 'world championship level' to elite. To suggest Floyd would entertain a 'green' fighter is ludicrous. He earned the right to fight him.
Well he did entertain a green fighter and there were 2 clear reasons.... 1. It generated big money and 2. He knew he was getting Canelo at the right time. The win on his resume has gotten better year after year. Floyd got him early before he became what we see him as now.
