good to see someone is man enough to admit they were wrong. the man deserves respect and you are right about him as an athlete and fighter... (i will say outside the ring he contradicts himself sometimes and comes off stupid)
This content is protected -- just like most boxers do This content is protected -- just like most boxers do This content is protected --tell that to ortiz mayweather is a fraud who blatantly ducked margarito and pacquiao. period.
ortiz cried all the way from fight build up till opening bell about floyds dirty elbows and sneaky tactics... floyd did not use them at all and was still dominating ortiz to the point he was opening up with combinations on him in round 4 (remember how you guys complain mayweather has no killer instinct and plays it to safe etc etc... yer...) then ortiz went full blatent with his headbutts (and there are clips showing him throwing the headbutt on more then 1 occasion earlier in the fight). mayweather gave him what he deserved ... margarito offered floyd the same paycheaque he was offered to fight the champion baldomir... but he also captured the lineal title fighting baldo so its a no brainer really... if floyd ducked pac ok thats fine.. but pac also ducked floyd then.. he refused to take testing and his team and bob arum put so many roadblocks up to stop the fight aswell.. floyd at one time (after the pac-jmm 3 fight) chased pac for months doing everything in his power to sign the fight.. getting his sentence pushed back and all (after bob arum used it as a way to block the fight among other sad reasons). sorry mate but there is to much FACTUAL evidence that suggests bob and manny both held the fight up aswell..
Mayweather is all talk and I mean that in a good way. He may say his opponents ain't **** and talk a lot but anyone that trains as hard as he does, you know he doesn't mean what he says.
That is one of the factors that separate him from all the other fighters today (andre ward, bhop are exceptions). He is sharp and alert for every second of every round.
He's grown on me a bit more since he came out of jail. He's mellowed a bit. And at least he has some degree of Sportmanship too him, unlike his buddy Broner.
I've always respected him as a boxer, his skill level is just insane. But I've never liked his out of ring persona and behaviour. In recent years I have warmed to him, he has mellowed with age and doesn't seem to get himself into so many stupid situations. Like many fighters who were reviled during their prime years he seems to have found a certain respect from boxing fans now he is past his prime and living off his guile, will and skill rather than outstanding athleticism. It happened to Ali, it happened to Eubank. It's also easier to cope with his sheer arrogance when he continues winning and backing up his wild claims. Harder to take the bold statements of greatness from a young untested fighter like Broner than a time and tested veteran like Mayweather.
