Besides the Hatton fight, I haven't seen Mayweather do much clinching.

I think this is what throws people off about Mayweather. He does what needs to be done to win fights. If that means going to the body, that's what he'll do. If he's dominating a guy without going to the body, why would he do so?

You answered the question when you said you love the way Rios fights. That's why you don't like FMJ, and instead of just leaving it at that, you choose instead to discredit the **** out of a guy who is considered by MANY to be the best fighter in the world without any solid facts to base it on.

Essentially all you're trying to say is that you don't like the way he fights. But you pass it off as a **** thread and say he's over-rated.

People don't understand tactics and strategy. Going to the body leaves the person going for the body open to counters. if you don't need to heavily go the body, then don't do it.

Tell me who today has a better jab to the body than Floyd? Name me one fighter.

When you have Floyd's gifts it's usually wiser to keep the center of the ring where you can use your speed advantage to the fullest. Forget digging in at close range going for body shots to attempt to slow the other guy down. Leave that strategy to the slower guys.

I dont see how the best fighter of his era can be overrated:huh

threadstarter believes he beats his best contemporary, how can you overrate some one who has been undefeated 16 years and won titles at 5 weights...All if not most the current fighters, trainers, writers, etc. say he is the best fighter in the world, an all-time great and a future HOF. Aint like anyone saying the guy is the Goat

Liking a fighters style has nothing to do with what they do in the ring. He does what he has to and he wins....really you cant ask for more

I would, but I'll start to sound like a broken record, and now so are you. You don't like the way Floyd fights, good for you. That doesn't make him overrated.

This thread will look funny in 20 years when Maywather is generally considered a top 10 ATG, and a consensus top 20 ATG even from the detractors.

I respect the fighters first second and last people get so caught up in the personality they don't see the skills and you don't kick Ass for 16 years and don't have heart.just enjoy the skill set he only has about 2 fights in him left.
