All this talk about bandwagon fans got me thinking, I haven't met many die-hard boxing fans who really liked Floyd. Some people jump on the best guy/team out there because they know they'll get to rub it in the face of the guys rooting for the under dogs.

I can definitely appreciate the man's skill, but as a boxing fan, can't help but get annoyed by the fact that the best match ups won't get made because the top guy is so money hungry. That hunger for money will never be satisfied, no matter how much he makes and he doesn't realize it.

Well first of all' boxing is a professional sport and a business. Most professions and businesses want to make the most money they can. With that said,it kind of ridiculous that eveyone assumes, that its all Floyd's fault that certain fights never got made.

thats as far as i read...

people who want to criticise floyd's appraoch to fights need to realise how good a fighter has to be to be able to do what he does.

sure we all want to see him have more flair and flex that talent all the way, but he's a SMART fighter - even if he does sell himself shorter than he needs to against guys like baldomir.

floyd may be an egotist out of the ring but he's get his head screwed on just right in it.

You're right - it's not all floyd's fault that there have been some good fights not made that could have, or should have been. But, Floyd has picked his opposition very carefully and that is obvious.

I've read and heard that business excuse more times than I can count. As fans, that side of the sport shouldn't be our concern. Leave that to the fighters and their handlers.

What exactly do you mean that Floyd has carefully picked his oposition?

My bad. I'm posting from my phone and it's acting up...

Floyd isn't shy about what his main concerns are. He wants to maximize his profit and he has beaten some good fighters on his way to the top, but has fought guys that any real boxing fan would pick him to beat.

thats a double edged sword saying leave the business side up to the fighters and their handlers because its the leverage and income that fans bring that make the business side so important to begin with.

Listen to Larry merchant talk before the diego corrales fight... He says that floyd change the way to promote fight to attract more people to boxing by hating him... And he does a good job every hater who dont know **** like you watch him in the hope that his big mouth will get busted.

To hell wit his persona. It's just an act. I don't criticize him for that. I just wanna see him face the top 2 WW's. Not doin so hurts his legacy, but he's still an ATG already.

JMM was a superfeather just last year. Floyd hasn't been a superfeather in almost a decade. Kinda different.
