I feel like i've made a breakthrough here.

I completely agree with both them being for the universally recognised title of champion, I said as much in that post.

What I have traditionally disagreed with you over, from a conceptual point of view, are 2 issues.

    1) the lineal champ is the best man in the division. This seemed to have been a misunderstanding of mine as I'm pretty sure you agree that isn't always the case.

    2) the lineal champ can ONLY be decided in a box off between the 1 and 2 ranked fighters in a division. I hoping you now see that isn't ALWAYS the case.

It is these 2 key issues that I disagree with you over and hopefully non of them stand anymore.

    WTF are you? Punch drunk?

Cotto and Pacquiao have NEVER been Linear 147lb champs. Now, you can make an argument that Margarito was Linear champ after the Cotto beatdown but no way in hell does Margarito "usurp" Baldomir's claim. Not even close.

You need to put down the crack pipe..

I don't think they were linear.

I just think during that period they were the best in the division.

    Holy ****.

    Are you serious?

Do you really have to go back to the segregated jim crow days to make your drooling ******ed point?

Please, take a step back, a deep breath and re read the nonsense you posted above.

That was a different time and place and is NOT applicable to the situation as it stands today.

As soon as segregation and jim crow laws are reinstituted in boxing - then maybe you'll have a point.

Until then you just have your head up your ass.

Please remove it and breathe some fresh air...

When Baldomir was the WW champ, there were about 7 guys I would have picked to beat him.

I'm sorry but NO. In a situation where a Linear title is vacant, it can only be filled when the #1 and #2 ranked contenders fight - unless there is some extreme set of circumstances that prevent such from happening - at which point the #1 and #3 can fill the vacancy.

Anything else does NOT fill a vacancy for a linear title. Period, end of story..

I'm not proving a point. I'm saying the man maketh the belt, not the other way round.

It's a point you already agree with anyways, I just think you're inherently hostile.

No worries, I deal with teenagers like you on a daily basis in my classroom.

Shock horror, the ring recognised jones jr as the lhw champ, above dm!

The ring also had vitali ranked number 1 so he won't like that.

Infact the ring don't have floyd as champion either so he won't like that.

No, surely he wouldn't be such a hypocrite?

    It is against Baldomir!!!!!!!

You could even call Baldomir "GOD", it would just be a paper title.

This might well be true for a mythical title you like to hand out, but that means less than dick in terms of who the universally recognised champion is.

I'm not against tracing lineal titles, there is some merit in it. But your criteria is just that; YOUR CRITERIA.
