McGregor isn't a hack.... On the contrary, he's sublime within the realm of his own sport.... Mayweather plucking a 0-0 fighter is pretty pathetic though.... Especially considering the class of fighter he is. This is a crash grab and nothing more... Anyone and anything would jump on this opportunity if it was presented to them, Mayweather is the hack who's desperate for money and facing the least risk high-reward opponent possible on the entire globe.

 

McGregor's best chance is if Floyd suffers a freak injury and tears his ACL or something. That's more likely than McGregor actually KOing Floyd on punches on a "legit" knockout.

Floyd's age and inactivity could matter a lot if he was facing a world class boxer. Not a world-class MMA fighter who hasn't boxed competitively in about a dozen years.

McGregor has specifically trained to be a top UFC fighter. His stamina and muscle memory are used to being used in a different sport. It takes many years to boxing training to reach a world class level (most never reach that level).

This is probably the biggest mismatch in boxing history, at least among "big" fights. Floyd will pick McGregor apart with ease, hitting him with a ton of punches from a bunch of angles. Floyd will look 24 against a boxing novice like McGregor. It's like him going against an amateur boxer.

I'll be surprised if Conor lands anything better than a grazing head shot or a semi-decent body shot. Floyd will toy with him.

The NSAC would refuse to sanction most mismatches of this magnitude, but money talks.
