I don't get why people think Floyd will win via stoppage. The guy never goes for the kill. He's a potshotter who knows to outpoint his opponent rather than destroy him, even if he can.

Conor isn't a boxer. But he is a fighter. He's taken strikes from bigger, stronger men with smaller gloves. He's got a chin (but wait, MMA fighters never get attacked to the body, that's where Floyd will KO him!), so unless you see a flurry coming from Floyd like it's 2006 again, he's dancing to victory.

Boxing is the sweet science. It's certainly a different beast than MMA. No doubt about it. But to see what he did to Aldo and Alvarez, two top guys in their divisions, proves the guy can bang. I am a boxing fan first and foremost, but I watch high profile MMA bouts and respect the differences between the two.


All told, I think this whole farce is set for a trilogy. First in the squared circle (Mayweather easy win). Then the octagon (Conor easy win). Then the rubber match who knows where, perhaps under a circus tent. Maybe they become billionaires at the expense of the naive, me included.
