I think they are way over-estimating how many people are going to buy this farce

Anyone remember lesnar going from wwe to UTC and winning a title in like two fights lol
Fluid will be a laughing stock if Connor comes in first fight with ever boxing and beats him I will laugh for a week straight but I don't see it happening
If it does boxing become s a laughing stock also

 

I guess money is everything to Floyd. I bet he'll brag about how much greater this makes him too.

Doubt it. And if it does, assuming we're talking about a boxing match, it will be ridiculously uncompetitive.

It's for sure happening, and people will underestimate the fight McGregor will put up. He will look sloppy at times, and he will look good at times. And Mayweather will beat him.

 

The fact that:

1) It's a DEBUT boxer vs an ATG
2) Floyd will get his 50-0 for the equivalent of drinking a glass of water and then make out it's a huge victory
3) It's going to be an embarrassing spectacle to see Conor stumble after Floyd for 12 rounds and get clowned rotten
4) Both fighters know it's a goddamn farce and they are going ahead anyway out of sheer greed
5) The hordes of MMA noobs that think McGregor has a great chance at KOing Floyd
6) The hordes of boxing noobs that think McGregor is riding on Floyd's name when it's the other way round
7) The fact that this will be worse than May/Pac and damage combat sports even more

and

8) If Floyd were taking Conor on at MMA I would be saying exactly the same things.

This is going to be shades of Ali vs that wrestler in Japan.

 

Fight doesn't hurt or help Floyd's legacy. I think it happens and does decent numbers. Unfortunately puts Floyd at 50-0 but doesn't matter. Look at all the buzz it's getting, for a fight that nobody apparently wants to see, it's getting a lot of buzz. Too much.

 

Couture / Toney was on this same general level. Toney really seemed to believe that he could stroll in and KTFO Couture, and it went down exactly as those in the know said it would.

Sylvia / Mercer superficially was also the same level of farce but with a few caveats.

1) They had originally wanted to do a striking match but didn't get sanctioning. iirc they had a gentleman's agreement to strike only. Sylvia was the dumbass in this case to think he could trade punches with Mercer
2) Mercer actually has crosstrained and isn't a complete noob

 

Unfortunately as much as I dislike Lesnar - even more than Floyd - he did have a legit backgroud in wrestling and was crazy strong in a division where there is no upper limit on size. So he always had a chance. Floyd is going to clobber McGregor, hard.

If Conor somehow one-shotted Floyd with a spaz attack I will join you in laughing for a week, though.

I too will not buy this. Reading about it the next day OK.

 

Can he knock out McGregor?
Saw Max Kellerman on ESPN today say Floyd could KO McGregor any time he would want too.
Saw Dana White on Conan yesterday say there is no way Floyd KO's McGregor
