THIS GUY IS STUPID AND ANNOYING...HE ALWAYS GOT SOMETHING STUPID TO SAY..GET OFF THE THREAD IF U DONT LIKE IT
11 seconds into the fight you see the mit work come into play were floyd ducks a left hook just as he does with the mits. Again anyone can learn a new skill if it thought properly, eddy futch also taught his version of the should roll also. [YT]hECeVAIXYBs&feature[/YT]
despite mostly everyone tearing apart this routine, like any boxing drill it has benefits.. a good way to work on this is start with: 1 2 block left shoulder 2 3 2 roll under right 3 2 3 block right shoudler 3 2 3 roll under left 2 3 2 block left shoulder 2 3 2 slip left 3 2 3 block left shoulder 2 3 2 slip right 2 3 2 lean back 2 3 2 this is a nice begining routine to help you get some speed and roll under and sliping some punches when catching mitts
I think that is wrong. The pads or mitts are for focus. AKA ' focus mitts ' ITs not teaching you to punch hard. Youre hitting some old guys hands why would you be punching hard? Its about putting your fist on the target and slipping , ducking everything coming back at you.
Exactly . After the 4th round ends they go to the replay where an uppercut lands and then Mayweather ducks under a left hook. This part of the fight is showing the focus aspect of fighting. The hard work pays off.
Mitt work mainly helps you to develop your power and technique, THE TWO THINGS GO TOGETHER. IMPROVING YOUR PUNCHUNG POWER can be achieved by using the mitts and a lot of trainers will confirm that. Trindidad, Hagler, Tyson, Mosley, Gatti, Michalchewski...they all hit the mits with full impact. Now, you may very well have learnt to use the mits differently if you have indeed seen a gym from inside like you pretend but your general statement is simply incorrect.
I can punch so naturally I hit the mitts hard enough. my coaches have never said anything about powere working on the mitts. The keywords have always been FOCUS . I guess thats where my coaches differ from yours. If I want to wrok on power , I am more than likely going over to the heavybag or uppercut bag depending on the drill. My general statement is that the mitts are used for focus ...and I have a hard time believeing that its incorrect. Different schools of thought , I guess. I will stay in the superior class and learn about focus. Power should already be there. Focus mitts can barely help in that category , IMO.
I do not know if your boxing school is in a superior class but it is certainly just different, end of story.
I figured you knew my class was the best!! You are right. End of story... Power isnt everything. Maybe those guys needed better trainers at some point. Some of those guys could have benefitted from a more focus orientated pad work. Some of those guys could have used more focus when their power failed them. Some of those guys looked like they lacked focus in some fights( The losing efforts in this case ) When Mosely lost to a much more focused boxer , he tried MORE POWER in the rematch. Close but no cigar. When Trinidad faught Wright he could used a little bit of focus. enought to to at least convince him to stop walking into straight left hands. When Gatti fought Mayweather the level of skill and concentration flat out dwarfed Gatti's power. Tyson USED to be a very focused fighter and then one day he thought he could knock people out with one- punch. FOCUS GRASSHOPPERS!!!
