Also, Floyd initially proposed the fight at 154, and agreed to 147 after arm-twisting. Roach recommended the penalty fee because he didn't trust Mayweather.

Don't believe what Floyd says, mainly due to past history.

Unfair? Maybe. But I don't think it's a complete coincedence he doesn't want to fight someone as dangerous as Pac when he has cherry picked pretty much all the way and got flustered when Shane challenged him.

If Shane beats Floyd let them get in on. Both being Golden Boy there shoudn't be a problem there.

If Berto pulls off the upset look for Floyd to go after him :deal

Pacman is GBP/Hatton promotions nightmares come true, just a little while back is was all such a cosy big $$$$$ set up, what with Ricky saying that his next fight will be against Oscar at Wembley (that was a done in the bag job) before 100K fans + extending the dominence of oscar's GBP into europe & then mayweather bugs out of the MEGA $$$$$ re-match with DLH so the leaving GBP with that spare date so they go & pick a little lamb to slaughter in Pacquiao & what a ****in nightmare that has turned out to be for Oscar/GBP & Ricky:lol: + ressurecting GBP's most mortal foe in TOP RANK/Bob Arum into the accendency.

There's more to this Pac/Floyd fiasco that ordinary fight fans can't grasp or meets the eye, hence Matthew hatton who is primed & ready waiting in the wings + lets not forget Ricky's little tit-bits that he keeps coming out with as to his so called comeback, He's been dropping the so called hints that he'd like to fight DLH or a Re-match with Floyd to put the record straight ect, ect, ect.

They don't need Floyd losing to Pacman as it'll bury GBP/Hatton promotions big $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ plans for the near future in the UK

On this occaision I'm with Floyd.

14 days. 2 weeks for the heavily tattooed Pacman to recover from the nasty needles.

Sign the contract and knock him out/dish out a beating like he did to Cotto.

Because Floyd believes Pac's doing drugs and because his sport is one he could very well die in. Because fighters have cheated before and caused serious damage. Because its not a bad precedent. Because the magnitude of the fight.

Floyds never missed making 147 yet Pac has slapped a 10 mil per pound fine on him.

I'd love to see someone smack Pacquiao something silly.

    Icemax will agree.

If Floyd doesn't miss 147 (which is never has and I'd bet my life wouldn't have for the Pac fight) then there is no fine being slapped by anyone.

The drug testing isn't a bad precedent to set in itself but I don't magnitude of the fight isn't a factor in there being this type of testing. There were big fights before and there will be big fights after that did perfectly well without it. This isn't a something the fight in general needs, its something that Mayweather wants.

All title fights should undergo the strictest testing possible. Especially in this day and age.

Shane Mosley vs Oscar De La Hoya - WBC 154 title - Mosley was doping.

Thats fair enough and probably correct but lets not get the reasons why one team wants this particular fight dope tested and why boxing in general should look into stricter drug testing twisted.

Its an issue that most people didn't have strong opinions about one way or the other before Floyd brought it up and suddenly its the new, urgently needed "must have" for big fights with a lot of pro-Mayweather posters. How did boxing survive without it?

If Mayweather thinks Pac is cheating then fair enough he has the perogative to say he won't take the fight without stringent drugs tests but lets not try to wrap it up in some "its for the good of the sport" BS.

Mayweather concerns aside (to which he is entitled) the fight and boxing in general would be just fine if the extra drug testing was something that was looked at in the future and properly considered over the fullness of time.

The drug testing for this fight is a Mayweather/ Pac issue, not a "lets sort out boxing" issue. Trying to dress it up it as such is just an attempt to put some extra weight, validity and importance behind Mayweathers demands.

Boxing regularly takes big blows as superstars like Vargas, Mosley, Toney and Jones get found out. It hurts the sport and should strongly suggest we need stricter guidlines.

The drug testing sets a good precedent. One I hope will manifest.

Interesting points made on this thread.

I kind of feel Pac should let Floyd's gamesmanship **** fly past him just to beat his ass in the ring.

I know PBF is far from easy but If Manny takes the tests and ****s up Floyd he's solid ATG forever
