Double like And Duran was the most ambidextrous fighter I can think of (in a sport where you have to train in some ambidexterity). Gifted, really. Superb fighting spirit (you either have it or you don't). Confidence and self-belief off the charts. Who said Duran had few skills and was just a brawler? That's not right at all.
And fast feet, unlike that one guy that said Duran had slow feet. What a joke- Duran had feet like a roadrunner.. if he hurt an opponent, he was on it like white on rice.. lickety split..
I don’t think Delahoya landed one clean shot the whole fight. He was aggressive but ineffective at all times. Dead serious wasn’t close.
As much as I hate so say this, it is a 50-50 fight. If Duran catches Gayweather, it is over. But Floyd has a very decent chance of pulling a Sugar and frustrate Duran.
More than actually beating Duran, the best Floyd would frustrate and harass him, running away with the win the very same way Sugar did.
that's the rumor but the truth is Oscar didnt come anywhere near a win. that's just PRIDE Fing with him
you mean he'd TRY being all over him. but the truth is, Floyd is the master of defense. Very tricky, Very sophisticated. He simply would not be in one spot for more than a split second and once Duran, who thought he had his target within sight, would miss, with Floyd contering from the blindside, a little similar what prime Camacho once did. I dont believe that Duran, after watching him lose to both Leonard AND Benitez, is able to deal with a 50-0 fighter, conqueror of 16 world champions including an 8 division champ
He wasn’t at all ineffective. They were about level after 9 rounds. Floyd pulled clear in the final few rounds. I never agreed with the split, as I know that Floyd won. But it was a hard fight for him. Oscar’s jab bothered him. And that was an end of career Oscar, who’d only fought once in 3 years. There’s a reason why Floyd didn’t cash in that rematch cheque.
Ray clowned and mocked Duran. Floyd would not have done that. It was also a version of Duran who’d been rushed back. A prime vs prime fight, would have been the Montreal Duran, fit and motivated. After watching both of their careers, it’s unlikely that Floyd would even have signed up for the fight.
did Duran? Who? Dejesus? a WBC champ for a few months. Buchanan? Next to Floyd, Ken looks like he's standing still. Who else you got? Palomino? ORDINARY. Who else is there? Benitez? he lost. He lost to Leonard too. He even lost to Kirkland laing. I'm telling you, Duran cant handle slick boxers Floyd is too slick, too quick, and would make Duran feel sick. He might even quit in the middle of the fight again
