    STFU Mark.

Why are you behaving like an idiot??

Using Floyd’s modern stats like a damn casual.

Duran took a prime Marvin 15 rounds.

    He beat a prime Leonard.

Your guy wouldn’t even have fought those guys.

Back in the real world, Floyd barely beat Castillo and struggled with Maidana.

He also has ZERO wins over a prime ATG.

    ZERO.

Regarding his stats, they couldn’t have existed in Duran’s era.

Most of the champs who Floyd fought wouldn’t have been champs in that era.

Duran would have crucified Floyd at the pressers and the weigh-in.

And that’s only IF he’d have taken the fight in the first place.

Now that would have been highly unlikely, considering that his Uncle Roger had him scared to death to fight Manny for years.

maybe its the old me coming out. My apologies

Put it this way, it should be competitive since Duran WAS 72 - 1 at one point and lost due to (stomach issues?) and age 29 (slowing down?, too much weight? too much partying? Not enough motivation?)

I stills ay Floyd gives no target and how do you connect on someone who is so good with the footwork???

I must give the edge to Floyd

Duran beat a PRIME Leonard, genius.

A prime ATG, out of his best weight class.

Floyd could barely beat Maidana and Castillo.

Mayweather vs Duran used to get very intense. It's been a while though.

You can give the edge to Floyd.

But when you’re saying things like:

“Duran couldn’t have laid a glove on him” and “He was a brawler with a bit of skill”

You have killed the thread before it’s even got started.

    ⭐ The key question:
Can Floyd keep Durán off him for 12 rounds?

    My honest take?

    No. Not at 135.

Durán is too good at slipping the first shot and bullying his way inside. Once inside, Floyd cannot tie him up the way he did at 147 — Durán was too strong and too dirty.

Floyd would win rounds early. He’d look brilliant in spots. He’d counter beautifully.

    But Durán would:

    • walk him down

    • rough him up

    • bang the ribs

    • make it ugly

    • make it physical

    • make Floyd fight more than he wants
    And over 12 rounds, that’s Durán’s world.

⭐ My pick (and I’m committing to it):
Roberto Durán by close but clear decision.

    Something like:

    • 7–5

    • or 8–4
Floyd wins the clean rounds. Durán wins the dirty ones. Durán’s pressure and physicality decide it.

Floyd doesn’t get stopped — he’s too smart and too tough — but he gets out‑worked and out‑fought.

    wow, too bad

    You do that.

Make sure that you stay at least 2 more weeks on the ward before you go home.

Maybe ask them to up the MEDS too.

See you in a few weeks.

I’m happy with any genuine debate, regardless of whether we all agree or disagree.

    I’m out now.

    I’ll catch you later.

100% agree--the Duran that fought SRL in Montreal beats ANY version of Mayweather!

Just not true. Depends on your definition of ATG
Cotto, Canelo, Zab, Castillo, Hatton were all within prime fighting age. For Canelo he was way out of prime and handled him easily. He beat who was in front of him. The only knock in his career is him and Pac not meeting when in prime. That’s as much to blame on Pac as it is him. Add in his wins against a good Oscar, Pac, JMM, Maidana and an old Mosley he did pretty good for himself.

Duran was faster than Leonard who was one of the fastest welters ever..
He beat Marcel, Leonard, and Buchanan who were all ATG,s DeJesus was for me too
