Cotto is one fight removed from doing 500K on PPV and his last PPV did enough in Puerto Rico alone to break even for Bob Arum. Not a "superstar" draw but to say he has no draw is factually inaccurate.

That said I see your point. Why would Floyd make a return against Cotto? IF Floyd is serious about a comeback, you continue to slow burn Floyd-Cotto. Both fighters are in "Comeback" mode and there's still too much ground to cover.

Not only that but JMM-Floyd is a technical fight fans dream and there's A LOT of those guys out there.

 

Cheato has no skills. If Mosley were to beat Cotto or Williams Ill call for it.

ever heard of Sugar Ray Leonard? glad he didnt think that way...or he wouldnt have come out of retirement by fighting Hagler who is bigger than him, not 2 to 3 weight divisions smaller. he didnt think about losing.. he had balls and dared to be great by fighting challenges....JMM is NOT a challenge, its a calculated mismatch that no one gives a **** about

Ray refused to fight Hagler in his prime and completely ducked Aaron Pryor. What about the Tommy Hearns rematch that never happened until they were both done as fighters.

The fight is a warm up for Floyd. If JMM doesn't want to fight at 147, who says he has to gain weight?

Williams is a bad fight for Floyd and a smart move. He would beat Floyd.

 

I didn't disagree with that. In fact I feel you're correct that right now the heat is at an all time low on this fight. All I was disagreeing with was the stance that Cotto wasn't a draw sort of.

The fight is still a few years off even when Floyd comes back. Cotto will probably have to beat Clottey and Mosley before he gets a Floyd fight.

 

One guy fought at 140. Another at 147 and 154.

so his big accomplishment of moving up to 147 was fighting Carlos Baldomir. who is famous for beating Zab Judah who is famous for beating no one.

Eh not really. It's not like Floyd would be beating Erik Morales or someone Pac likes. Pac isn't the biggest JMM fan out there.

If your argument is "Wow Floyd beat somebody that Pac struggled to beat!" then you could argue the fight is already as hyped as it gets since Pac beat DLH to bolivian.

 

If marquez really only wants to fight at 140, why not fight bradley . And mayweather wants to stay at 147, he could fight mosely. Then they are both happy!

 

DLH got stopped at 147 not 154.

At 147 Floyd beat the ex champ and current champ in back to back fights.

He then beat Hatton who was a previous title holder at 147. Although their weights were what they would be if they fought at 140.. it was under the 147 banner.

Hatton weighed 154, exactly what he weighs as a JR WW. There was no extra weight gain like Collazo.

So in 3 back to back to back fights. Floyd beat the champ at 147, the number 1 at 154 at the time, and then the champ at 140.
