Thanks for letting me know not to take you seriously. Your perception is terrible to the point where you might not know what you are actually watching.

Mayweather is faster, more powerful etc., but as far as textbook technique goes, Marquez is a better puncher. His combinations, especially, have always been a real thing of beauty. His timing is perfect and he has excellent accuracy. Very few fighters that I've seen, have been able to match the pinpoint accuracy in combinations, that Marquez has. Guys like Arguello could.

Mayweather is a very good puncher but he relies on single shots a lot of the time. As far as variety goes, he can't match Marquez. He doesn't have great uppercuts, hooks to the body, etc..

I wasn't criticizing Mayweather at all. I just don't think that his technical punching is as good as Marquez's. Marquez is the best pure puncher I've seen since Ricardo Lopez.

I tried to tell everyone here from the jump that Jack was a ****ing idiot with no credibility the guy will say anything to further his bull**** agenda. The guy will be thoroughly embarrassed when PBF beats Pac's limited ass all over the ring. The kid knows nothing about boxing and can't analyze styles if his life depended on it.:rofl:lol: Saying JMM is a better puncher than PBF is just the tip of the iceberg from this mouth breather.:nut

Are you mad because I criticize black American fighters? Due to your biased, racial and xenophobic agenda.

Tell me, how is Mayweather a better technical puncher than Marquez? What does he do better, technically?

PBF seems to intimidate fighters in a way, his trash talking really seems to get into fighters heads in the way of losing confidence. Pac has a chance but he has never even close fought anyone as technically sound and clever as PBF. And I'm not sure if he is the stronger of the two, as PBF may be stronger... I have PBF for unanimous decision.

Unfortunately these guys have limited knowledge of boxing. Mayweather does a lot of things that trainers would tell you to never do. He gets away with it because of his speed and agility.

As a boxer, he's pretty overrated. He doesn't have a jab, can't throw combinations. He relies on 2 or 3 punches and spams them throughout fights - lead lefts hooks, lead right, jab to the body. Again, it's his speed and agility that makes him look so good.

As far as textbook punching goes, Marquez is better - that doesn't mean he's a better fighter though.

I think you're an alright poster most of the time, but this is some bull****.

He has a fine jab, when he chooses to use it. Mayweather outlanded DLH with his jab in their fight, and DLH has a find jab. He also popped Mosley's head back quite a few times with it. He simply doesn't rely on it too much against lesser fighters because he doesn't need to.

His left hook and right straight are textbook as well and he can throw multiple variations of each. He's a fine body puncher, and he throws combinations just fine. His style has changed a lot, but do you really think he just forgot how to throw combinations since his days at lower weigh classes? He doesn't do it because he doesn't need to. He picks his spots and throws at them. Combination punching isn't like Tekken where you're going for a 7 hit combo. You do it to create openings. If you can create openings without it then the tradeoffs of increased anerobic exertion, less precise punch placement, and potential for being countered aren't really worthwhile. At least not for Floyd.

Other than the fact that I rarely see him throw uppercuts and he leaves himself open at times to bait his opponents there is very little that he does that isn't fundamentally sound boxing. You're the one who is getting dazzled by the speed and agility if you don't notice that.

If Pacquiao only has a "punchers chance" then 9 out of 10 times they fight he is gonna KO Mayweather. He has the speed, combination punching, comes in at the right angles, and the quickest footwork in boxing. I just hope it happens.

I completely disagree with this. His jab is very good. Borderline great.

Yes Mayweather can adjust. He's the only guy with footwork to match Pac's.

I think Floyd gets nailed If he's too aggressive with his punches. Pac's right hook will be huge. Floyd needs to be aggressive with his positioning, and work on the inside.

I don't think the shell defense will work all night, I think Floyd will look to smother Pac

I see both guys getting hit cleanly, but Pac is the one who needs to stop Mayweather, or at least score some knock downs to win, tough task.

Pac's Style is wrong for Void, plus Pac refuses to throw the fight.

Exactly. I had this same debate with a Jones fan before - Jones was an immense puncher but wasn't great technically. If 100 kids joined gyms around the country, 99 would be taught how to punch like Marquez. What Mayweather does is far from textbook.
