Whitaker's higher output would probably win him the fight.

PBF throwing one shot at a time would really hurt him. He would be loosing rounds when he is missing alot of those one shots while Whitaker would be throwing more combos and landing some of them.

It would be a huge fight and huge buildup but then wouldnt live up to expectations and be a boring technical fight.

i actually think floyd can take this.

purists usually "are at peace" with people from the past and i dont think people will look at floyd objectively for some years yet.

At 147, Whitaker has the advantages. Would love to see them @ 130 or 135.

Floyd didn't stand within punching distance anywhere near as much as Whitaker did. Whitaker didn't mind getting hit 1 or 200 hundred times so long as he was landing his 400 shots. Floyd didn't mind getting hit 50 times, so long as he would land his 150 shots. That's the difference between the two.

Whitaker, even when past his prime against DLH, still hit DLH more than what a near prime Floyd did to a 10 years past his prime DLH. Make of that what you will :good

I think Mayweather best chance is at 147. Whitaker was a phenom at lightweight. Mayweather wasn't.

Definition of 'struggling for a credible argument': Bagging someone for losing two rounds to a 2 weight champ in his 12th fight.

are you comparing an oscar at a weight that suited him (with ring size, gloves and weight) to a floyd who was fighting at a weight that didn't suit him on all counts?

don't do that please when you know you're cherry picking your argument.

Whitaker had the far better jab and workrate, which are his keys to victory here. Not to mention the southpaw stance which Mayweather has admitted to having trouble with against lesser fighters. Not to mention Mayweather takes time to adapt to high-class(and much lower class) opponents, losing early rounds in the process, a problem Pea never had. So, if Floyd's losing early rounds, how does he win? He still has the disadvantages in the southpaw, jab and workrate category, and is at least matched everywhere else, so even if by some chance he is able to even things up by the mid-way point of the fight, he's ****ed on points due to losing the early rounds. Face it, Floyd's not winning this fight, at any weight(aside from maybe 130, as Pea never fought there and would be weight-drained).

Mayweather weighed 148 pounds for the fight if I recall correctly, how did that weight not suit him? The Oscar that faced Pea was the far better version.

Pernell UD 8-4 or 7-5. Very competative. I think it would actually be a good fight for those who respect the science. Pea's jab, speed and accuracy would force Floyd into throwing more and Mayweather would not respect Whitakers power thus helping him grow a pair of nuts. Very skilled matchup but it has been done many times.

    Whitaker takes this by decision.

weighing in for a fight doesn't translate simply because itøs agreed.

read my above post - and it's also about the natural weight of the fighter and how that relates to body mass.

weight jumping is a big thing in fights and i'm really surprised how people who haven't been in this position pass it off as unimportant almost. i know they don't mean it that way 100% - but they also don't understand it in the same way.

Your point would have more merit if:

    - DLH had done anything relevant in the last 5 years at 154
    - DLH was even close to a natural 154 pounder

Unfortunately, DLH had done nothing at 154 worth talking about in years and DLH was probably a natural 140 pounds

This is one fihght I would love to see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

@ 147 - I will give this to Sweet Pea by UD (Dont think it would be wide)

I would rather see this at 135....much closer contest here Floyd has a chance at this weight!
