Watch noobs who don't know what a gym looks like to rush in here and claim Mayweather is doomed for being injured. Injuries are a part of the sport, they happen to all. Greg Paige dropped Tyson in sparring, does that mean he beats him a pro match where both are 100% prepared for each other?
tyson got dropped cuz he was tired after boning jap girls. but yeah sparring matches dont mean much. just like somebody already mentioned, spadafora gave it to an out of shape mayweather and spadafora is nothing special. people who dont know boxing make a big deal about this stuff
It's interesting that in a lot of these Mayweather gym stores, body shots seem to be the most common theme. Supposedly Kid Diamond broke one of Floyd's ribs in a sparring session and Mark Suarez claimed he put Mayweather down with a body shot in one of their sessions years ago.
i wouldn't read to much into it but its a good claim to fame that Gorman now has, sumthing he can brag about 4 the rest of his life
Co-Sign. I'v done up to 8 - 5 minute rounds in sparring sessions several years ago, I'v never heard of 6, but I guess thats why Floyd get the millions.
no matter if this guy is as good as was said it is doubtfull he will do well in the olympics as the amature dont like to count the body shots.
So....? What does this mean? I was knocked down for the first time and ONLY time in my career during a sparring session. You are lazier, more complacent and focusing on specific things in sparring. However in a real fight, your focus is on the game plan created throughout training. This means nothing.
Sparring = testing. You do mistakes there on purpose to see what your opponent can/will retaliate to it and what you can do to avoid or counter. Sparring aren't challenges for professional boxers.
yeah during the gatti fight merchant mentioned that mayweather has crazy sparring habits; he said it as a response to any questions as to whether floyd could continue the pace he had established in the early rounds of beating the holy **** out of arturo. turns out he could continue the pace just fine
