This is maybe true but yet sparrings are not a video game. You can get really hurt in a serious sparring.

People said spadafora beat him up but I seen a video of them sparrin and floyd gave him a boxin lesson. So this story may not b tru especially as he is an amateur. If floyd can make great pros like corrales look bad wat wud he do to an amateur.

injury doesn't equal beat up the guy didn't say he inflicted this injury so imo he just thinks he did sounds like floyd finished the sparring session with this guy and he assumed he gave floyd the injury cause he didn't hear or see any sparring after that doesn't mean he didn't spar after that the guy is a nobody why should he be informed of all floyds activities anyway if this is true floyd will admit it as he did with spadafora but injury doesn't mean beat up maybethats just my opinion

I have heard guys say how great they are sparring, and then they get in the ring and get stopped early. Some guys go at 50 percent in the gym and some at 90 percent. The 90 percent guys do not do well in a real fight or with a long career.

Right! I've heard the same about Floyd's sparring sessions being two or three times longer than regular rounds in order to stay in condition or in order to get in OPTIMUM condition before his fights. He'll rotate fresh fighters in without a break.

But if this kid hurt Floyd in sparing you gotta be somewhat impressed. Floyd is incredible with his defense and isnt known to let "sparing" partners get the better of him. I'm intrigued. With this "rumor" I doubt the kid is ready for anyone close to Floyd's level at this point but still....it shows some promise.

That's the point of it, getting hurt. How will you know what your mistake can do to you if you don't get hurt from counter attacks?, you have to be in that situation to test out different moves on how to adapt out of it.

If it's super duper private an article of who got him injured in sparring wouldn't be out. Besides, I don't see other fighters announcing everything they did in the gym publicly. It's a part of the gameplan to keep things like that secret, you wouldn't want to expose yourself and give your opponent free advantage.

Defense = coward?, since when?. All amateurs in the olympics are a bunch of cowards then.

Fighting like a heavybag only to have a short career is hardly super hero material, it's dumb.

Its sparring FFS. Most of you guys have never fought. Young guys, especially amateurs work way too hard sparring with pros and thats their youth and inexperience. Real Pros use sparring as conditioning for a fight, we rarely go full out. The only examples of full out sparring are usually for the cameras sake.

If some young fool started going hog wild on me before a professional fight where I am just trying to get some rounds in, we would have a serious talk or he would be asked to leave t he gym.

Sparring is not Prize fighting, professional fighters want to earn their pay in the ring.

Just like George Foreman did to Ali after Larry Holmes "whipped" him in sparring right? :rofl

Club fighter's sparring sessions sure but not pro. A good example is how Lewis' team immediately got rid of Jeremy Williams when he started taking things personally during the sparring sessions.
