What are you talking about when u SAY "PAC ALREADY FOUGHT DLH, COTTO, HATTON, SO YOU CANT TALK ABOUT HIS COMPETITION"..

I NEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT MANNIES COMPETITION MAN...HE HAS FOUGHT A LOT OF TOP FIGHTERS...

GO TO YOUTUBE...(IM AT WORK NOW AND CANT GET ON YOUTUBE)..U CAN FIND PLENTY OF VIDEOS AND INTERVIEWS THERE WHERE ZAB IS TALKING ABOUT HOW HE WANTED THE MAYWEATHER FIGHT BUT HE HAS TO FIGHT HIS MANDATORY FIRST...

HERE I'LL LET U KNOW SINCE U DONT KNOW...FLOYD WAS ORIGINALLY GONNA FIGHT ZAB IN NOV 2005....ONE OF THE SANCTIONING BODIES WAS GONNA STRIP ZAB OF HIS TITLE THOUGH CUZ HE HAD A MANDO IN CARLOS..SO HE FOUGHT CARLOS AND THAN FLOYD....CHECK YOUTUBE FOR SOURCE AND U CAN GOOGLE IT AND FIND WHATEVER INFO U WANT:good

Show me the Vargas quote..i still dont see where u reposted it..show me where u posted the vargas quote and I responded with a null rebuttal:think

also his 4 wins were over mediocre opponents..javier Castillejo was the most proven and at that time even he was done..he hadn't beat anybody worth mentioning to make anyone believe he was the SAME VARGAS THAT FOUGHT TITO AND OSCAR....PLUS HE TOOK A LOSS TO MAYORGA 4 MONTHS AFTER THE MOSLEY FIGHT...CMON NOW

So people thought Miranda could fight going backwards? No, they didn't.

I asked for proof yes, but it has to be relevant proof, otherwise what is the point? You can look at a Malignaggi stoppage and use it as proof he has power, but it isn't relevant proof. For you to prove that Pavlik knows how to cut the ring off, you need to tell me a fight he did it in against a guy with good movement.

He certainly didn't cut the ring off well against Hopkins, so I don't know how you could say he did, when he quite obviously didn't.

Mayweather doesn't fight like that, you're right, but it doesn't mean it's his only chance to land. It would be more difficult for him because he prefers long punches himself, but he would certainly land on Pavlik. The idea that he couldn't hit him, as you said, is just wrong.

Of course not. Not only is Joe Louis a much, much, much better fighter than Pavlik could ever dream of being, a 147lb version of Louis would beat Mayweather. I always predicted an Ike Williams victory over Mayweather for the same reason Joe Louis' style would counteract Mayweather's defence.

But then, I look at styles rather than height and weight, so that's where we differ.

Let me pose a question to you. Valuev is much bigger than Louis, so would he win that fight based on size?

Anyway, Mayweather does have a strategy for landing punches - Counters. Pavlik has a bad habit of losing balance and falling in after his right hand. If that misses, he is in range for whatever Mayweather wants to throw. Pavlik's poor balance would leave lots of openings for Mayweather.

Pavlik's work rate is very good against most guys, but whenever he is shown movement, it drops rapidly because he needs to plant his feet to land his big punches. If you can stop him from planting his feet, his workrate will drop.

Of course Mayweather doesn't hit as hard as Miranda. However, many boxers hurt De La Hoya less than Mayweather did, yet they hit harder. It's always the punch which you don't see.

You don't think Mayweather would land? Absurd.

I wrote that wrong but my point is right. By your theory, Ketchel couldn't land and couldn't hurt Johnson, yet he did.

I agree, but the majority of your points are based on the absolute delusion that because, and solely because, Mayweather is smaller, he wouldn't land on Pavlik. It's just nonsense, it really is. The references to history are to prove to you that there is a precedence for even bigger size adantages being neutralized by a gulf in skill.
Why would it be? Where is the precedence for Pavlik landing on someone as elusive as Mayweather? And where is the precedence for someone as slow as Pavlik landing on him?

I know they are, but it's still the closest comparison, even if they are miles away in terms of style.

I don't think he is. De La Hoya is faster, a better puncher and had a better style to beat Mayweather.
I'm not arguing that De La Hoya hits anywhere near as hard as Pavlik, so I don't understand why you'd try and make it seem that way. I was just pointing out how ridiculous you sound, when you claim that Mayweather has a totally untested chin and would collapse if he comes within a foot of a Pavlik jab.
No, I mean "better puncher". If I meant "better fighter" I'd say that. Alexis Arguello wasn't one of the 20 best fighters ever, but was he one of the top 5 punchers ever? Probably. There's a difference.

Monzon had incredible timing, and, unlike you, I don't think Pavlik does.

Really, I think this is where we completely differ - Speed to me, is the big difference here, but speed can be neutralised by timing. I don't think Pavlik's timing is close to good enough for him to effectively catch Mayweather throughout the entire fight.
Again, you're reading into things I'm not actually saying.

I don't think Mayweather would trade with him on the inside. Just wait for an opening, pop out a fast right or quick combo and move.

Pavlik's jab is slower than Oscar's.

You haven't showed me ****, and SUPPOSE to doesn't mean anything. That means they have been working on the fight and haven't come to an agreement. Until that contract is signed nothing is happening.
