Vacate and look for a title eliminator.

It wasn't a great performance from McCloskey but he still dominated (generally) and won by stoppage, so why bother?

It's not his fault the drug testers never turned up, so **** it, move on :deal

It's a pointless fight. But if he can't get anything bigger and better then he might as well keep the title and beat Lauri again as soon as possible. Bit of a dick move form the EBU though.

not good news for mcCloskey maybe it will be best to take on lauri again cause i dont see vacating the belt at this moment of time as a good thing.

yes i knew what you meant mate .

LHL i think if it ends up in Italy Paul's gonna have to produce a class display otherwise he may lose the strap. I can see Lauri doing even more moaning then last time.

Well I think Paul should look for Kotelink next if at all possible. If this rematch has to take place then I see McCloskey stopping Lauri in 9 due to out boxing him an picking him off more cleanly with precision.

I think that Paul can win this fight much easier next time round...:yep

I certainly don't agree with his matchmaking by the EBU, but the belt is his cheque book and he must keep cashing them cheques...:yep

I would look for a fight with Paulie Mallinagi at MSG unless he wants to come across to England, I think he would draw the punters in and it is one I would definatly go and watch...:yep

Kotelnik is fighting Alexander next. McCloskey is nowhere near getting himself in a position to fight either of 'em IMO, shame.

he might have a fight with Maidana, then he'd pretty much be Khans mandatory challenger.

The KO was grand, this is bollocks. Waste of time for Paul, he wins the rematch as well, but he's running out of time to land a big fight.

he should hang on to the title and defend it.

He is nowhere good enough to beat any of the world champions at 140 and he isn't going to fight Daws for a title that he gave up.

What is it with the EBU and naff Italian boxers???

McCloskey is running out of time and needs to crank his career up another gear. He fought poorly against the Italian and could have done much better.

How powerful are Matchroom, can they get the big matches?
