    He did make Khan look very sloppy coming forward, but that's because McCloskey simply focussed every single ounce of his energy in avoiding getting hit. If he had opened up and tried to actually win the fight Khan would have blown him away.

    Well yeah, he made Khan look sloppy because he only tried to make him miss. Forgot the part where you are supposed to land punches as well Dudey? I hope the Prescott fight isn't as much of a stinker...........

    Like Froch-Dirrell and Pac-Mosley (for recent examples) come forward fighters will look horrendously sloppy and poor if their opponent is consistently negative.

    There's a modern misconception that never engaging is 'pure boxing'. It's not, it;s spoiling, and unless you're using it to get your own shots of you might as well not be in the ring.

    Froch-Dirrell is a bit different in that Dirrell still got in the cleanest and most effective work in. I felt he won that fight comfortably. Dirrell did a lot more than Mosley and McCloskey did in their fights.

    Everything else I agree with in your post.

    I think McCloskey will win against Prescott. If he gets too defensive and doesn't throw enough he could give away rounds and get in trouble. But then the hometown judges should cover a few rounds for him if needed ;)

    Yet again McCloskey spouting more bull**** about how the fight was going exactly how he wanted it to.

    He'd lost every second of 6 rounds - so he could draw or go for the KO. The guy can't rely on his power too much with his 50% bum KO ratio.

    I didn't mind McCloskey on the way up, but this constant spouting off of how he was making Khan look ordinary and 'cheated not defeated' bollocks has made me go right off him. I know he's trying to promote his fight but he's coming off as delusional.

    I'm supporting Prescott this evening.
