Same here, Walker looked pretty good, and in better shape than the first fight.

Kali Meehan came in the heaviest he has his entire career. Wonder if there's a clue in that?

Great career, but perhaps that's the last we'll see of Kali.

I don't think it's the last we've seen of The Freight Train on these shores. He spent the rest of the night posing for photos and signing autographs for fans. He reckons the fans here are the best in the world because they appreciate a great fight, whatever the result.

I thought he was a red hot chance from the moment we were offered the fight largely because he was back with Dwight Pratchett, his original trainer and had plenty of notice to get into great shape. His training camp in Houston went perfectly, sparring with Nagy Aguliera, who's preparing for Adamek.

I'd like to see a rematch. I think Kali took it all to easy and he would have learnt tremendously from this loss. Can't expect him to go on forever but I do believe he is a much better fighter than Walker. Kali tired quickly and didn't throw any combo's. The good ol' 1-2 was a struggle for Kali even after the first couple of rounds. Kali was picking Walker off with short left hooks and short right crosses, but all on the counter with Walker coming into range.....no combinations and barely an attacking play on Walker. Kali couldn't be happy with that effort....no way...surely he couldn't go out like he did last night.

Good on him....took his chance and finished off a respectable fighter. I hope he improves and stays on the attack.....he did look a touch tentative until that last round when it seemed like somebody put a rocket up his arse and told him to attack Kali.

he was tentative cause he had felt kali's power. he landed a good shot and tried to finish it before kali recovered and he won.

but kali had controlled every part of the fight until then, and far easier than chagaev and alex had imo. so i wouldn't be getting carried away with walker.

but kali was in VERY poor fitness i believe. he even had what looked like a BEER belly when he sat between rounds.

there were a couple of times kali hurt travis with good shots but just didn't follow it up, he was far too blase.

hopefully travis comes back, he would be good for a rematch with kali, alex, or to face tua, cameron or monte barrett possibly.

travis seems a nice guy and fans would pay to see him in oz again surely.

He wasn't busy enough for my liking through the 3rd, 4th and 5th rounds however he explained afterwards that he believed Kali was trying to catch him coming in and he had to be wary of that. He did say that he was perhaps over cautious to a fault.

I was told that Kali was ahead 3 rounds to 2 on the cards at the time of the stoppage. Travis followed the game plan laid out by Pratchett to a T and when he was asked to really step it up, he did exactly that. Dwight said prior to the fight that the left hook will do it. He was spot on with that and also that the further the fight went, the better for Travis.

I wish Kali all the best, he has been an amazing servant to the Aussie fight scene and he is an incredibly humble guy. It is rare that you have two big guys with such outstanding KO ratios and there wasn't one bit of smack talk before, during or after the fight.

It'd be a fire fight, but I don't think Walker qualifies as Australian just yet. :)

He just accepted the fight mate - not much more to it than that. He's a classy guy and someone who's very easy to deal with. He doesn't cause the promoters any headaches and he's professional.

He'll be back out here for sure, soon enough, which he is already looking forward to. Whether that is a return with either Kali or Alex or someone else entirely remains to be seen.
