Probably Taylor...I think he would overwhelm Tszyu for the most part..Both will probably tire late, I think Kostya will more so and he will be unable to turn the fight around.
Dunno Rock, I actually think Kostya's right hands might be too much for Taylor to handle, as he wasn't elusive or durable enough to deal with them IMO. Taylor would undoubtedly trouble him, but I think Tszyu's steady pressure and barrage of rights would do the hittable Taylor in.
Yeah I could see that...I just picture the other scenario aswell. I think Kostya defence was pretty leaky aswell...I also think Taylor could crowd Tszyu and not give him room to work like he did Davis and if he could match Chavez on the inside like that, he would give Kostya all types of hell. I could see Kostya waiting to much, getting outhustled and beaten to the punch. I just dont really have much faith in Kostya's stamina holding up with that pace and when those right hands start to pay dividends..Im not sure he will have enough left in the tank to make Meldrick pay. But...he certainly has the punch to take this fight, I have no doubt about that..Its just I see Taylor getting the better of it over the long haul.
Tszyu for me, by stoppage, i just don't see Taylor going the distance, i don't think he's strong enough to really take Tszyu out of his game, though he will for the first few rounds with the workrate. And then there's the fact he's in range.
I honestly don't rate Tszyu's power as much a some...............would you guys say it was the 140 equivalent of Hearns at 147??? Anyways, I say Taylor throws too much and by sticking his shoulder into Tszyu and firing off combinations nullifies Kosta's range, and the amount of punches he throws overwhelms Tszyu to a 10th round stoppage. Only my opinion though.
Nar it's not that type of power, i think Tszyu hits very hard with his right hand though, in this particular case i think he would win with more of an accumulation effect on his opponent, by repeatedly hitting the target with accurate ones. I know Taylor's style is geared towards beating Tszyu, i just don't see it materialising and him seeing it through personally.
I hate this fight! Meldrick certainly has the speed to cause to cause Kostya some problems, but sooner or later Meldrick is going to have to go toe to toe...not because he will need to, but because inside of him there is something that would have to. I would see meldrick taking the first 3 rds, as his speed dictates the fight. In the Middle rds more of a see saw battle with kostya getting stronger as the fight goes on. With Kostya taking the very late rds. I would lean towards a narrow pts decision for either guy...if forced to get off the fence and pick one I would take Kostya. I also think Kostya has the chance of taking Taylor out late, but will stick with an SD!
I think Tyszu's power is overrated but he was very effective with it. I see Taylor landing at will but not doing too much damage and getting timed with brutal shots himself, Tyszu's punches do more damage and as the fight goes on this starts to tell and Kostya finnishes him off around rounds 9-10.
Tszyu's power got overrated, then underrated, then overrated...it was one of those chestnuts. He could really hit, but probably not the hardest the division has seen. He had underappreciated handspeed and offensive skills...he was deceptively quick and accurate.
Could go either way. About the only thing I feel confident in saying is that this fight won't go the distance. What I don't know is whether that will be from Tszyu sparking Taylor or Taylor tiring Tszyu out with his ridiculous workrate.
taylor takes it late.....although tszyu has his moments in the fight taylor outspeeds and outworks him throughout and eventually breaks him down late. as the fight progresses tszyus punching power is less effective and taylor has the fighters courage to take some shots in the beginning
KT stops Taylor.For all his speed Taylor engaged in punch-outs too much. I remember watching Harold Brazier fighting Taylor and Brazier landed alot on Taylor-more then he should have.KT has simply too much power to allow to land often on you and Taylor would get into a shootout that would lead to his downfall.
Taylor fought Brazier very early in his career before he hit his prime. The Taylor that beat McGirt was a prime Taylor.
