Memorable George Foreman Quotes

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by Dilly, Jan 22, 2012.

  1. When Foreman did an interview on "Center Stage with Michael Kay" in I think 2002,he said that he loves Jim Lampley and Larry Mrchant but that he did argue with them on occasion.
He said he was treated like a king working for HBO (fancy hotels, good food, car services)
but he said he never intended to stay with HBO for so long anyway. He was with them in some capacity since like 1993 or something so he was there for a long time.

George Foreman is the best color guy they've had on there. I remember how mad he got at Lampley at the end of Barrera-Hamed fight. Funny, off-the-wall insights, but he was a fighter unlike Kellerman or Merchant so his words carry weight. Guy hit hard as a fighter, Hulk Hogan was sparring with him one time, got hit in the arm and his legs went numb, that's power.

On a funny note, I was watching Klitscko-Brewster or another Klitchko fight and Jones was doing the color. At that time there was a proposed Klitschko-Jones fight. After Wlad got wobbled by a punch Jones said 'if they got chins like they I don't think they wan't any of me'. Oh boy, what a clown he still is :) Calling on guys to retire instead of fighting way past their primes, talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

  4. George Foreman is a fuking prophet

this is his quotes before Lewis Vitali fight

    'LENNOX LEWIS IS OLD

    HE HAS BEEN RETIRED

    HE IS UNPREPARED

HE IS OVERWEIGHT AND OUT OF SHAPE HE IS JUST NOT IN SHAPE

VITALI CAN UPSET LEWIS TONIGHT BECAUSE HE IS OLD AND NOT PREPARED AND unmotivated

'IF ANYONE IN THE HISTORY OF BOXING HAS FOUGHT THE LENNOX LEWIS THAT FOUGHT TYSON THEY WOULD HAVE LOST

(actually that is wrong because Lewis was semi shot against Tyson as well)

For 6 whole rounds George then went on to say

VITALI YOU CAN DROP HIM DROP HIM COME ON .. WHY ISN'T VITALI DROPPING HIM HE CAN DO IT COME ON VITALI HE CAN DO IT ...

  5. Lennox at one point thought the Tyson fight would be his last fight so he was in great mental and physical shape for that one. He was heavier in the Vitali fight and still beat that ass.

The thing about George Foreman is he said a lot of outlandish things but because he's a professional fighter so its hard to argue against him sometimes. Another common Foreman comment was at the beginning of fights he would say...

"(Insert fighters name) looks dry. His body is dry. Don't be surprised if we see a early knockout here"

"Don't do it son!" "Don't do it!"
Can't get that out of my head...
Whenever I'm about to do sth stupid, Big George is right there to put me in my place.
    18 years and counting...
