Mercer always seems to find a way to lose. I hope he wins this one, though, to make up for that Kimbo fiasco! Now every street fighter in the country thinks he can beat a seasoned pro thanks to Mercer! haha
What? Kimbo, with all of his bull**** hype about being a great streetfighter, wanted no business on the feet with Mercer. He went to the ground straight away, and he chocked out a 37-38 year old retired Boxer? Big deal. If he had stood up to Mercer, he'd have been put to bed and he knew it. Mercer agreed to a boxing match in this fight, and if Sylvia thinks he'll get credit for beating a 38 year old retired Boxer by using MMA grappling, he's even more of a joke than I already think he is. He should stand up like a man, just as Mercer said, and if he does..he gets sparked.
Actually he wanted to try the sport of boxing. Why would he get a re-match with fedor. Leser would be an easy win but even sylvia isn't dumb enough to sign with zuffa.
Adds insult to injury. Tim is a joke in the MMA world already, if he stands up and out strikes even this version of Mercer, that may his greatest ever achievement. That's more testament to how much of a joke the man is rather than how impressive the feat would actually be.
Tim will never have any fans. He tries his best but he should learn to keep his mouth shut. He's got an opinion on everything and really thinks his that good. But watching Tim is about as enteraining as watching paint dry. The dudes striking is awful to watch and he has as much coordination as a herd of cows along with the footspeed disabled Ox. No one cares about this fight. The only thing that made it interesting was the fact it was supposed to be a boxing match. That being said Tim doesnt seem to notice that Grandpa Mercer is dam near 50 years old.
I'm interested in this fight. If only because Mercer has a chance to knockout the former UFC Heavyweight champion of the world. That would make the whole MMA world look very stupid, and the funny thing is, if Sylvia doesn't act like a ***** - I fully expect Mercer to get the knockout. I won't be watching it because there is no coverage, but I'll be reading the headlines.
I hope Tim just sticks to his word and box's. That would make things VERY interesting espcially against an old guy like Mercer.
If Sylvia tries to box , Mercer will own his ass. But if he puts his pride aside and fights intelligently , (taking zero risks)...he'll simply have to take mercer on the ground and finish him there. But something tells me he won't do that...He should show no arrogance because even at his age , Mercer would own him if it was just pure striking. He's a big guy , so he should take advantage of his size , force Mercer on the ground and g&p him. If Kimbo can do it , so can he.
