For the record as to that fight, I heard Garcia actually say it in the corner. I think it was right after the 10th round. He said to Marg, "That's it, you have to go out and give it everything. You have to because if not..." Then Margo nodded. He didn't use the words but the intention was clear. I actually thought Margo didn't need to be pulled out either, not out of Machismo but because he was fighting back, was steady on his feet, and was passing the ref's test on visibility. This wasn't a need to be pulled out by a corner. Manny can't just decide when an opponent has had enough either. The fight lasts 12 rounds. That's how it is.....
WHy am i kidding you? Because i asked a simple question? I dont claim to know it all in boxing. While I know of some of the fighters you named (meaning seen a lot of their fights), You named some i didnt know which was my purpose for asking. Some of you condescending people need to get over yourselves.
I wouldn't go so far as to literally call it "stupid." Just saying I don't get the "prideful" aspect of something you have no control over. If Mexicans are so "proud" of all the things you claimed, why is there such an influx of the countrymen/women heading to America (illegally, I might add)? Maybe the MX national anthem should be modified to accommodate this phenomenom...
So you are saying that immigrants can't be proud of their country of origin? Are you also saying that all modern phenomena should be accounted for in the national anthems of all countries, thus leading to modifications? atsch
atsch have you ever heard of the melting pot? There are good things and bad things associated with EVERY country it doesn't mean they don't have pride for their country, dumbass
It is typically Mexican. It's in their culture of fighting. You can see the difference between a real Mexican and a fake one in the Pac-DLH fight and the Pac-Margo fight. One refused to say quit, the other took the easy way out. DLH, is a tough fighter and has Mexican blood, but learnt to fight and was raised in the US. He never liked being called a fake Mexican, but whether he likes it or not, he is called that for a reason.
The desires of any immigrant from a less wealthy country explains the influx. To start anew. Which is why so many immigrants are so entrepreneurial, while the less fortunate at least have comparatively decent wages to go by, not to mention the hope of greater opportunity. I think a lot of people see the media interpretation of the US and think it's a dream place that offers more than their own country can. To top this off, there are already many Hispanic people in the US that offer a familiar community to immigrants from Latin America. Despite moving away, their birthplace and home is understandably a source of pride, like any sports team or boxer from your area is a source of pride for the people there. In my city Toronto, probably the most multicultural and diverse city in the world up there with Miami, we have more of a cultural mosaic where people are not expected to assimilate to the dominant culture but they still contribute which is beautiful.
well good, I hope Margarito's fans appreciate him getting his face plastered for 12 rounds, good job Mexican punching bag!
Margarito was trying to drink something to boost his resistence before the fight what kind of warrior tries to cheat?
Mexicans are toughest boxers i have seen ever. It's a fight. It's a choice one makes 99.9 pct them choose to lay it on the line. And they can take it and dish it where as other nationalities wilt bad these boys are unbelievably tough. That's how they get down, ya know what i mean? they don't run and box like sleek american styles. It is how they are program to fight even listen to the national anthem. It's about WAR and shyt lol.
Other nationalities wilt bad? There are plenty of tough fighters from just about any country. I think this stereotype coupled with the high off Margarito's beating is getting to people's heads.
Exactly. probably isn't getting to anyone's head as much as Floyd! Pac is probably in his nightmares.
A lot of it has to do with the background, Mexicans along with Russians, Colombians, Irish, Africans and Asians come from poverty and from the streets where sometimes you fight for free. A fight is something their use to and the motivation of a way out of poverty helps to. This is something someone who has always had everything they need will never understand.
