I also couldn't tell as clearly from the original broadcast angle watching live but - goddamn, that was a (more than half) blocked shot and it still had Kölling in a state of neurological ruin.

The state of modern advertisement in boxing for ya, fighters' chests are now billboards with nipples. Kinda miss the giant ring apron Budweiser logo, myself.

I can't tell if the practice gives more or less ultra capitalistic douche chills than pugilists in Thailand adopting sponsor names as their own. Same bleak dystopian ballpark. :sisi1

No one taken seriously on here thinks that, I know you have your personal gripes about the guy, but there's always delusional morons writing up hyperbolic garbage about fighters. There were some absolutely insane threads regarding Golovkin years back that I'm sure you remember well. It's fair to assume that Beterbiev would have success moving up to CW, but HW would be a bridge too far.

I do remember Beterbiev making a point of taking Koelling late to show he can box and punch in the championship rounds. It seemed once he stepped on the gas in the twelfth it was easy for him to finish proceedings.

Reviews of his performance day-of in the live RBR were a mixed bag. It was so boring that of the several people watching and commenting along on here that at just one point did anybody post a scorecard (50-45 Beterbiev) and none after the fifth. :sisi1

R12 of Beterbiev vs. Kölling starts about 35 minutes in:

A prolonged drubbing, with a bunch of clean head shots on a tired Kölling. A fresh version got one-and-done Saitama'ed by Cieślak despite absorbing ~70% of the impact on his glove.

Cieslak has serious power, I don't know why people are acting like it's a huge surprise.

I made the first thread on this site 8 years ago praising him.
Artur Beterbiev: Behold The Rise Of King Artur Of Khasavyurt The Beast Of Dagestan

And what the **** are you talking about? I score the match a shut out for Beterbiev, the only thing that I was
annoyed by was Lou Moret not letting Koelling go another 27 seconds and see the final bell.

Obviously I know that most of the assoles putting that out there are know nothing **** for brains, although I couldn't resist. Because even though like you said, he could definitely have success at CW, just like Fonfara, Kovalev an Bellew have recently. I also think like those three, his success would be limited to the more fragile guys. I have a hard time seeing Beterbiev walk through a Briedis, Dorticos or Cieslak. A Mchunu or maybe Makabu is probably his ceiling.

Briedis has elite world class talent to go along with his size advantage, so that's a big ask, but I would make Beterbiev a favorite against Kalenga, Mchunu, and yes Cieslak. Dorticos might well be too big and powerful, but then again Kalenga held his own against him, and he's a pretty stumpy CW. I'm also not convinced he's the same fighter post-Gassiev.

I'm not talking about your scoring, just the sentiment of him being overrated you seemed to maintain throughout. It was said in jest anyway, so I wouldn't take it that seriously.
