Dennis Kang is not and was not the best this sport has had to offer, or even among the best.

Chris Leben was a good win but it wasn't a super impressive performance.

Dan Henderson scored the most epic KO in history against him.

Rashad Evans beat him in a fairly close fight, I think, but I haven't watched it since the night it happened.

Matt Hammill beat him. Those judges should be shot.

Wanderlei Silva beat him.

So, yes... he's faced some good competition but he's never really beat elite level competitors.

Bisping is a B level fighter at best. He's been gifted with some favourable match ups and handed some A level fights, and he's fallen short every time he's stepped up.

 

Hopefully winner gets Palhares - and hopefully thats Bisping

there are many fighters who have been 'gifted' opponents, not just bisping.
if he spoke with a yankee accents you'd all be creaming your jeans for the lad.

I honestly think people are just deriding Bisping because it's almost part of MMA culture not to like him.

I can't say too much about miller because I've not seen much of him but Bisping isn't as bad as people make out. Plus we are forgetting he was legitimately robbed vs Evans.

This is very true.

I'm Australian, so the accent shouldn't make a huge amount of difference, although I do have a soft spot for George Snuffleupagus.

Bisping is actually a very skilled fighter, he has some decent wins behind him, but he's not one of the top 10, in my opinion he's never been in the top 10, and he likely never will be in the top 10.

As was said above, there's a reason most people have a hate on for Bisping. He can beat up all the Denis Kang's and the Charles McCarthy's and the Dan Miller's he wants, but he's a gatekeeper at best, he's just not given gatekeeper fights.
