Anyone know what ever happened to the movie based on Michael Gomez's life? I'm assuming they ran out of funding, because I'm sure I'd seen a trailer/preview but I've heard or seen nothing since. Think the lad playing Gomez was an actor from Shameless.
Thanks for the replies/info fellas. Gomez has certainly had a colourful life, the potential for a good movie/documentary is definitely there, let's hope something comes of it.
Saw a trailer type thing and it looks like a camp Danny Dyer film but less realistic and very poor acting/script.
Ive seen the trailer to it i think it looks like a cracking film, cant wait till its out to watch it, Michael Gomez is a legend. :happy
Yeah I remember hearing the confirmed details about it, and have wondered myself what the pops going on with it. Kelvin Fletcher aka Andy Sugden in Emmerdale was directing it and Jody Latham was playing Mr Gomez.
i hope they do it justice this mans story deserves a big budget and proper proffessional, hollywood make these sorts of stories up
Just an update on this fellas... I found the official site for the film and it says that 'the trailer was made before the script was written' and is a 'taster of how the feature may look when complete' My guess is a lack of funding is the problem as it seems to have been in the making for a a couple of years now with no confirmation of scripts being finalised or filming started Here's the link incase anyone's interested... http://www.gomezmovie.com/
I don't think the trailer's up to much either Shame really, cos his story has certainly got potential for a decent film/TV drama
