Michael Hunter = The Best American Heavyweight Prospect

He certainly has the potential to do it, but not in the shape he’s been showing up in recently and his timing still needs a lot of work.

 

Did better against Usyk than bellew yet he gets ridiculed and Bellew praised. How is that for logic?

 

I've got Hunter as my third best American heavyweight behind Wilder & Big Baby.

I've also got him in my top 10 overall so he's well past the prospect stage. His win over Bakole makes him a contender. With a couple of exceptions, he's just about the only h/w out there who has registered a decent win in a country other than his own.

There's a good reason he can't get decent fights in his own country. It's b/c none of the name h/w's would beat him. That rules him out as a viable opponent for them.

I'd like to see him do what his father didn't & fight for the h/w championship of the world. His father had plenty of good wins against high quality opponents but never cracked it for a big money title shot against the likes of Mike Tyson or Evander Holyfield.

I'd like to see the son get an opportunity his father didn't.

 

Biased mongol opinions bud. I think Hunters good, but not as good as made out. Ive never seen balance or sloppiness like Hunter's in a long while at that level..Against Bakole he looked spaghetti legged to me like he didn't have his legs under him when he did if you get me !

 

He’s got an awkward scrappy style that doesn’t look pretty, but it was exactly what he needed to against A fast handed and powerful

Hunter really isn't tested and Bokolie rocked him in a closer fight ppl aren't admitting to and he looked asleep for half the fight.

Hunter is very good technically but he's going to have trouble against sharp power punchers.



Trey hits harder and faster then anyone Hunter has boxed. Treys weakness is inactivity and right now Hunter may be over him but his ceiling is limited and that's coming from someone who told everyone Hunter would be one of Usyks best opponents and was told I didn't know anything about boxing. Now all of a sudden he's a great fighter and more hyped then I had him ? Lol

Morrison has far greater potential then Hunter. Assuming he stays active i believe I will be correct here.
