No One Said It Was. But Fact was alot of people on here and in boxing felt he'd be beaten by younger fresher man. People thought the boxing ''clinic'' Mitchell put on Prescott would be displayed again. Katsidis showed the level of World Class lightweights and European level. Domestic fighter is bit harsh on Kevin Imo.

This thread isn't about just one fight but about the fact he fights anyone, anywhere and loves the sport and his fights are just pure entertainment and i know he ain't only one but he's one of a few.

I knew you lads had it bad out there but that's shocking. It sounds frustrating to be a fan in Australia right now. No wonder Katsidis fights abroad.

alot of Aussies like Katsidis on websites.boxing gets little mainstream exposure in Australia except if you carry on like a dickhead e.g. Green,Mundine.nice to see a Kats appreciation thread in the Brit forum.:good

Absolutely perfect stoppage IMO. Mitchell was defenceless on the ropes and Katsidis was just hitting him at will.

Katsidis is everything you want in a fighter, and he's more skilled than many give him credit for. I haven't missed a single one of his fights since the Earl massacre. Obviously I was rooting for Mitchell, but I was one of the few clapping for Katsidis when he won (much to my lady's horror and possibly in disregard of my own safety...)

Boxing is way more of a minority sport in Aus than Britain but the people who follow it IMO are as knowledgable. Just fewer in numbers.

Green and Mundine make the money because the casual fan / footy fan takes an interest in their rivalry.

Similar to Hatton 5-10 years ago in that so many of his fans weren't what you'd call boxing fans but instead football fans who had a passing interest in boxing and got onto Hatton.

I've always said he's good to watch and he nearly always brings an entertaining fight - he's relatively decent too.

Still, I'm not going to jettison him to God status though, simply because he beat Mitchell.

The fact that Diaz did him, says a lot.

He always comes to fight though and credit to him for that.

Look forward to watching more of his fights...

It's because Mundine was a former first grade Rugby League player and the sport media in this country know NOTHING about any fight sport and the reportage of boxing/MMA/kickboxing whatever is generally hopeless.

Katsidis and Darchinyan both deserve a much higher profile - That said - There was some complimentary coverage of this fight on some of the not so usual sports shows and Michael is appreciated here, just not widely as boxing gets pretty much no coverage.
