Man what a fight ... Mickey is a very tough match up for Marvin ... his chin, strength, speed and stamina ... people talk about LaMotta but Walker was just as tough and simply a better fighter when he was off the sauce ... just not sure ..
You didn't know? Kid Norfolk returned a thumb to the eye with one of his own in 1921 and detached Greb's retina. He fought for the next 5 years seeing shadows with that eye, and trying to avoid being called out on his condition. During that time he beat Tunney, Walker, and a host of other fighters. Yeah, I just don't think he would be able to hold Walker off with his outboxing skillset, which was good of course by all means. Just not good enough to use against this guy.
Must have mentioned Greb fighting with one eye a dozen times..And Greb had PARTIAL vision in his other eye,for the last few years oif his life... Just imagine, Greb tackling everyone around bigger than himself, almost weekly, worrying if his opponent closes his remaining orbit, he is blind, and helpoless..Plus he will lose hius license to fight again ! With this in mind the great Greb, still licked about everyone...What courage, he and old Sam Langford [going blind himself ] possessed !
You got it Casey! That left hook is incredible. In my top 50 KO video I have a slower and a bit better quality of the punch. 6:00 Watch how fast the punch travels in slow mo [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NhZ3IA27T-I[/ame]
Hagler can box very well but he ain´t no Tommy Loughran. F*ck I can´t watch the video due to the music. Copyright issues in Germany.
You beat me to the punch...I agree but it could be that those pressure fighters who fought inside troubled Marvin...Mickey would be a handful
