pac opponents need to settle the **** down, de la hoya killed himself, hatton over trained to some degree....cotto needs to cool it....
I think it's just light work, Cotto is a very good training fighter but in general he does'nt over expense in training himself like Floyd or Pac does so I doubt he will be doing that now.
Btw, I guess he completed his tribal tattoo....it looks crazy. Seriously though, has there been a boxer in recent memory that has gotten so many tattoos in around a year?
I think this is the right move for Cotto..you don"t want to overtrain to close to the fight in order to make weight. Early is the best method and coast as fight night gets closer. I think he's started early intentionally for that reason.
Overtrain?!?! Pac always overtrain every fight. Cotto is probably trying to get used to a gameplan, light sparring...simulation..
This is a big lie from Joe Santiago, it was denied not only by Arum but by the Nevada SAC . In Nevada the law regulates that ALL fights be in a 20' ring... can't see any reason this kid would be telling this to PR newspapers... I don't know, but for some reason I keep disliking this guy more & more... I think he will play big part in Cotto's demise, now he is making Cotto train too hard , too early, exposing him to overtrain like most people have alredy noted in here... hope I'm wrong and Cotto comes well prepared but anyways Joe should go from Cotto's corner!
It's good that he's taking this fight seriously and putting together an intelligent gameplan. Hopefully he won't leave too much in the gym, especially considering he has to lose an extra couple of pounds.
Cotto is running the risk of overtraining. His body might be subjected to undue pressure. Pac needs only 8 weeks to train. He can go back in shape easily. He does not bloat. He has good work ethic.
his fans maybe, but i doubt he's doing anything heavy just yet, he's prolly just doing some footwork exercises:think
