How the **** can you compare Canelo and Jr. to Mayorga? Are you for real?

Canelo has a long way to go, and Jr. will be a mediocre C- level fighter his whole life.

Mayorga right now drags both of them to deep waters and drowns them, he rapes Jr. before drowning him, though.

Dunno about that. JC is looking better every time out under Roach, and he'll come in shape to fight 12 hard rounds. He's got decent power, better defense than Canelo by FAR and a hell of a jab. I'm looking for him to start surprising people.

I just finally watched cotto-mayorga last night. I thought Mayo looked like a BEAST in there, better than I've seen him since Forrest. Cotto's chin problems are gone at 154, he took some big shots from Mayo and walked right thru them. Before anyone downs Cotto's power at 154, you should realize he DID finally knock out Mayo, who's taken massive shots from some very, very heavy punchers.

Exactly, so it's amazingly stupid that these guys are saying Cotto would lose to Álvarez and Jr. because he couldn't steamroll Mayorga. :huh

Same **** could be said for both..

I think Canelo Cotto is 50/50 canelo has the size advantage, naturally bigger, harder punching posess the same skills as cotto, both have problems with defense... it would be a scrap anyone that says otherwise is just over rating cotto and not taing into effect what has happened to his career he is no longer the person he was before Margo and PAC and the sooner you guys realise this the sooner you will realise it would be a good fight... Cotto is not a natural 154 pounder and has not shows to have moved his power up... as he just boxes now... The only thing I see cotto having over Canelo is footwork, and Experience.. the footwork to run away from LION and the experience to last the rounds... which would tend to create a good fight. jaja.

and JR Cotto is Cotto by decapitation.

I understand what you are saying but you can't compare little Hatton to Mayorga, there is an ocean between those guys.

Cotto kills Chavez Jr. Canelo would be an excellent fight, but again Cotto would win I think.

Bro, Cotto does EVERYTHING better than Canelo. Alvarez leaves himself wide open, Cotto would be dropping bombs on him from the opening bell. THere's a pretty big skills difference between the two. The question isn't whether Cotto would beat Canelo, he almost certainly would. The question is could he beat Canelo and JCC Jr. on the same night.

    Dream matches are BS....^

If the fight were to happen It would be 50/50... just one fight not some BS double team.

Like I said Cotto just posses better footwork since he boxes, and more experience doesn't make him a god... Cotto is was past his best as he already said he is gonna retire in 1-2 years as he himself knows his time is counted...

    Cotto canelo is 50/50

I guarantee you the fight wouldn't be 50/50, vegas odds would be at least 3/1 Cotto, probably more. It's also not just experience that gives Cotto the edge. Cotto was a better prospect when he was just starting out, a much more vicious puncher and well rounded fighter. He's reached the peak of the sport, and if he's slipping these days, it's definitely not by much. I'm not hating on Canelo, I like the kid and hope he does well, but I think we're putting some unrealistic expectations on him comparing him to Cotto.

How can they both be the same? Coming from different lives.... Cotto was coming off the Olypics and has an Amateur career and competed in many tournaments.

Canelo started boxing at 12 and turned pro at 15 or 16....

And when we are comparing or saying Canelo has a hint of cotto in him we are not saying he is the exact ****ing copy. You can just see a hint of Cotto in him... not to say he is the next but to just comapre the skills he posses's at such a young age.

Also the cotto you see there will not be the cotto you will see at a match at 154 after being war torn and facing to tough career ending losses.

I would take the 140 cotto vs a 147 Canelo but come on now...

Take a look at the current boxers they are now at 154 its 50/50 but its a dream match that will never happen because of GBP TR so my Opinion is just that an opinion.

It might happen. Canelo will be coming into his prime as Cotto is fading, assuming Alvarez continues his career in good fashion. They might feed an old Cotto to him. They won't be seeing each other anytime soon, that's for sure.

More power than Jose Cotto's for sure, and we all seen what happened when Jose landed his best shots on Canelo.

Great chin based on what? Dude almost got sparked out by a very moderate punching Yuri Nuzhnenko two fights ago from a single left hook.
