good news, Quintanas a good fighter and i honestly think he deserved a rematch...if people can say "well Williams just underestimated him and thats why he lost" why can't Quintana get the same break?, maybe he just underestimated him and got caught cold

but anyways back to the subject at hand

:happy good to see Cotto back, i told ya'll he's still the same fighter, the mans a warrior, i knew that loss he took from Margarito wouldn't end his career nor effect him in anything but a positive way

and props to Jennings, i predicted he'd get stopped in the 5th but, he showed up to fight, and i think he did a better job then Gomez at the very least, in fact against a non P4P talent, i'd think he'd give many world class fighters a decent fight, he showed some good footwork, handspeed, and overall boxing abillity

but yeah the outcome wasn't suprising but the one thing that did suprise is Cotto didn't do the whole "whoever my company puts in front of me" he said' he'll fight Mosley, Clottey, or Berto

    the mans back!

He's back?!?!?! He fought the worst dude he could find!

And some of you fools were laughing at PW for fighting Andy Kolle and Verno Phillips...

Cotto is ****. And if he mans the **** up and fights Clottey he will get put to sleep with an uppercut. Zab almost put that ***** to sleep before the low blows. Clottey will **** his day up. Period.

Why not? Cotto has proved himself already where Berto has not. If Berto can beat Clottey I wont be on him no more. But Cotto might get to Clottey first.

Name some top competitors clottey and williams fought. .

Your whole theory is that Cotto is going to get caught by an uppercut and be put out. . . Cotto's chin is far from suspectable and his defense is decent and becoming better, I want to see Clottey land a big enough uppercut with his subpar speed to put Cotto out.

Best chance Clottey would stand is to try and use his defensive skills to out box Cotto, which wont happen.

Clottey will give any welter a hard time so singling out Cotto because he beat down a lesser Jennings is moot. In the end I'd still favor Cotto in a UD based on activity. Clottey is sneaky with his left hook and straight right but he is too stagnent with his attack at times and becomes overly defensive. I see Cotto taking advantage of Clottey's high guard by going to the body enough to win the judges over.

It's already available. I downloaded it and watched it. Cotto looked incredible in this fight. Am I the only person that thought he looked and fought a little like Marvin Hagler at times in the fight. Those punches looked vicious. Most people here are just discounting Jennings like he was some bum. I hate that bull**** (and i've not even been too keen on Cotto before). This was his most impressive win to me because he just destroyed Jennings, who is a very good boxer. I saw Jennings' last fight, and the guy can box, and his record shows it, but Cotto was just a step crisper and countered him all fight long stopping him in his tracks, which was why he couldn't get any punches off. I bet that shocked Jennings even more than the vicious hooks, the fact that Cotto was countering him so effectively. I thought this fight was similar to the Quintana fight, where Cotto absolutely dismantled a guy with really good boxing skills far more easily than expected. Except Cotto used every punch in this fight, including those excellent jabs that were rocking Jennings head back. He also looked very intimidating and meaner. I really think this Margarito scandal has rejuvenated him and he really seized the moment last night. I prefer this well rounded version of Cotto, that uses both his vicious hooking style and boxing skills, as opposed to the limited one that focuses on just the boxing skills, like against Mosley, Margarito, & Gomez.

I'd be interested in either a Mosley, Margarito (in Mexico, they might try to kill him if it was in Puerto Rico :)), Berto, or Clottey. Also, couldn't a Margarito fight take place in an Indian casino, on Indian grounds, since Indian grounds are owned by the Indians themselves and not America?

I definitely thought he had a shot. Regardless, I expected him to put up a fight that would last past the sixth. Have you watched one of his fights? If you have, and you thought he would get his ass handed to him like he did, then ok, kudos to you. If you haven't watched the guy fight, then you can't really say if the guy had a shot or not. Me personally, I didn't realize it was him because I didn't remember his name, but once I saw his face, I was like "Oh, that guy" and thought he'd put up a good fight because I had seen him fight before, and he was quite solid. I think him getting blown out says more about Cotto and less about Jennings. I don't buy that stuff about Jennings being put in there because he had no chance. If they wanted someone that had no chance they could have chosen someone else. It's obvious that he was picked because they felt Cotto would win, but they knew that they would face too much criticism if they picked an absolute bum (some guy with like 10 losses on his record).

    I have always liked Clottey.

I have always thought Clottey was one of the top WW. I would rather see Cotto fight PW, but everyone knows Bob Arum would never let that happen.

And so what... He called out Clottey. He's feeling good about himself for beating up on Micheal Jennings. Jennings ain't no Joshua Clottey.

Both Wiliams and Clottey fought Margarito, and fared much much better than Cotto. Much better.

And as far as Cotto's chin... He ain't got a glass chin, but he can be hurt fairly easily. Clottey will hook him to death.

You're one of those "people" because you "people" never give these guys credit if they fight anyone that isn't a name fighter. Jennings isn't the worst fighter he could find, that is just a silly thing to say about a fighter that is highly ranked. In boxing, upsets happen when you'd least expect it, and usually if you put a fighter that is a skilled boxer in there with a star.

Lets not go nuts just yet. Jenning was what he was. A return bout from a KO to help Cotto regain some confidence. Had he done that to a top WW, then you could roll out the carpet.

That fight would be great, but Arum knows that the smartest fight is with Shane Moseley because of 2 reasons. 1) The fight will be even bigger now that Shane did what he did recently & 2) Cotto has already demonstrated that he can beat Mosley.
