There's nothing wrong with picking Cotto to win. He's a very good fighter, and he is fighting a guy coming up in weight.
This is all you have on Cotto thats it. You must be losing a lot of money on him. Vacant belt or not he is still defending his belt against fighters his OWN SIZE!!!, with exception to his upcoming fight which is against what many consider pound for pound the best, which I disagree. The guy takes more chance than most fighters out there. You can't argue that. It's easy to pick and choose a fighter like Baldomir and beat him for his belt, than fighting Quintana, Margarito, Clottey, and Mosley. Dont you think? I bet this wont get answer.
And he would have had two more through unification if his opponents hadn't been stripped before the fights.
Let's see, who did Cotto beat for his belts? Oh yeah, Kelson Pinto, Carlos Quintana, and Michael Jennings. Those are some real killers there. I'll give Cotto credit though. He did take on 3 tough fighters in the form of Margo, Clottey, and Mosley. He also arguably lost to all 3. And yeah, Cotto has cost me some money. I put a good bet down that he would beat Margo and he got his ass kicked all over the ring.
Margo and Clottey were both stripped/vacated before fighting Cotto. However, he lost to Margo. So that would be one more belt. The reason that unification fight didn't happen was because Cotto didn't get his paperwork in on time.
Your opinion doesnt go down in historyatsch "History" is Cotto is 3-1 against those guys with Margarito having an * whether you like it or not just like the decisions. Quintana is a threat and im not even going to mention why. Just like I predicted you couldnt answer the question. Is it easier to win a belt from Baldomir or easier to face Margarito, Clottey, Quintana, or Clottey??? Lets try this for the second time
He may very well be the next abc champ...depends on what the future holds. Though I do know one thing your vacant title grabbing observation is factually on point though the negative atmosphere your trying to create in regards to cotto's legitimacy is quite pathetic. My guess is we will have a couple ego stroking casual fans co-signing your frivolous observation while more knowlegble ehtusiast will chuckle at your feeble attempts of constructive critcisim. Fact is cotto probably has the most impressive welter weight resume out the top ten ranked at the moment. He has fought ex champs and current champs though you are correct with your superficial findings though they lack true substance. Can't wait for th jints to meet those eagles later this year! Good luck to your phillies asswipe
Yep, exactly :good, like it or not he clearly defeated a guy that many people on this forum admired, PAUL WILLIAMS, go check out that fight, ohh and for those who said that williams had an off night maybe quintana had an off night too in their rematch:hat
That's interesting. My opinion that the decisions were questionable mean nothing, but your opinion that Cotto's knockout loss is questionable, is valid. I don't think so. There is no evidence that Margo cheated in that fight. He was cleared by the NSAC. Your opinion does not go down in histroy. The records don't have any asteriks next to that win. I wonder how many Holyfield fans are bragging about his win against Buster Douglas? After all, Douglas did beat Tyson. One win over a good fighter does not make you a good fighter. Quintana had one good win, promply got his ass knocked out in the rematch, and hasn't done **** since. He is a solid fighter, no more. When are you going to answer my question about how many HOFers were 29 and still did not win a non vacated title? Your question is garbage anyway. Your taking Cotto's 3 toughest fights(all of which he arguably lost) and comparing them to one of Floyd's wins, a fight he won with ease. And if you're going to prop up Quintana because of one win, why don't you do the same for Baldo? He did beat the undisputed champ. But to answer your question as best I can, I think winning every round against Baldo is harder than getting your ass smacked around like a ***** and then quitting against Margo. Hell, I could get my ass kicked by Margo with no training. And shutting out Baldo is harder than getting questionable decions against guys who landed way more power shots against you and had you bleeding and putting on a track meet at the end of the fight.
Wow it just shows how much hate you have, you still cant answer the question Answering my question with questions and relating other fighters to this topic is the true garbage:good Have a nice night and learn to appreciate the sport of boxing. Even when you dislike something, dont turn it into pure hate, because it makes you into a blind man.
Read the post again, I clearly answered your question. And look through this thread again. I didn't even make any negative comments about Cotto until you started with me. By the way, I asked you a question first. You never answered it and only responded with questions of your own; questions that I clearly answered.
That's one. edit; Julian is in the World Boxing HOF which isn't as highly regarded as the International Boxing Hall of Fame.
Face it Reg, Cotto beat Mosley by a clear decision, I know it bothers you that Cotto has a win that is better than any 147 pound win Floyd has but don't spread propaganda that Cotto "possibly" lost that fight when he clearly did'nt.
You can concoct this waste of threadspace based on how cotto will re establish himself after losing to pacquiao on a title that may or may not become vacant. Epic waste of hypothetical bull****. And you've got the ****ing problem.
