Miguel Cotto vs Antonio Margarito: Predictions from several individuals.

being the toughest fighter doesn't insure a victory, thats why de la hoya/winky and santos are betting on the more complete fighter=cotto

 

Never go against boxing ... boxing trumps every physical attribute ... all that **** gets thrown out the window ... to top that Cotto is naturally faster.

 

I'm changing that **** ... uh because the more I think about it ... the more I think that Cotto can make this an easy fight.

Margarito has a high workrate, a sturdy chin, and good endurance ... but he's not fast enough and he doesn't box good enough ... last time I checked this was boxing and boxing has nothing to do with coming forward in a straight line and throwing alot of punches.

yea cotto's chin doesnt really come into it for me, he has taken some great shots and stayed standing (I dont really count the torres fight as knockdown).

other that that some good predictions and reasons for it. I still dont really know who to pick, I'll probably just sit back and enjoy.

 

That can be considered a push --

 

Cotto = Hearns

Margarito = Hagler

Just wish more 'experts' would pick Cotto, give me some more winnings.

I'm really not very sure of who will win this fight.

I will be rooting for Margarito and wish him the best of luck but I think Cotto will box his way to a decision. If he find out he can't hurt Margo I can see him back pedaling during the second half of the fight.

 

Very bad comparison ... Hagler was shorter than Hearns ... and Hearns was hit with some lethal body shots.

 

I think that Margarito's chin isn't all whats its cracked up to be ... he hasn't been hit by an elite fighter.

 

Consistently everything Cotto brings to the table is getting swelled beyond reality here on ESB. First his footwork. Then his defense. Then his chin. And now his power.

Kool Aid is a wonderful drug, isn't it? Just don't crash back down to removing all qualities he has when he's beaten by the one guy who had all the tools to do the job.

 

If Cotto wins impressively ... i'm 100% sure that Cotto can lure PBF out of retirement.

Do let Cotto win by a devastating KO but still manages to get hurt and gain the hearts of some more fans ... i'm sure that - that will be enough to lure Floyd out of retirement.

Add to that ... if the fight does 350-500k buys (hard to believe but possible) and i'm sure Floyd would be watching.
