the **** is wrong with you. I will remember him as a warrior that risked his life for our amusement, until he developed diva antics towards the end of his illustrious run.

I will also remember him as the guy who's career got derailed by illegal plaster wraps.

One of the best of his generation and an Rican ATG. Too much is put into this "diva" stuff when you fight everybody and become a HOFer at the end of your career you have a right to be entitled.
Guys like May,PAC,Cotto can't be considered divas too much work put in, guys like Thurman,Broner,GGG don't have they same cache haven't done enough.

    A bit harsh.

Cotto will be remembered as a very solid fighter and a hall of famer. Not a true great, but a guy who faced the best of his era and compiled a nice list of exciting fights and memorable wins.

And I really can't blame him for his diva attitude towards the end of his career. This is a guy who probably has CTE and has taken beating after beating, even in his wins. Might as well try to maximize his earnings near the finish line and minimize risk and damage if you can.

To quote Floyd Mayweather Jr on an episode of 24/7 after footage of Cotto touching his friend in the morning...

"my man on the cheeks. He touched my man on his cheeks.

Matter of fact, he ain't touch his butt, he went for the dookie shoot. The kid went for the dookie shoot."

For me Cotto will always be the man who went straight for the dookie shoot :think

The only thing that stopped him was that crooked NY doc that stopped the fight. Tony was blind in one eye from round 2 why didn't that doc stop it sooner?? Cotto couldn't beat a one eyed opponent. Pretty in Pink Diva

Antonio Margarito.... fought for 8 rounds with one eye Ounky STILL couldn't put him away That crooked Dod saved Cotto

    Exactly.
He took a beating from a guy who used plaster for 11 rounds. 11 rounds!!! Big heart. And when he rematched the plaster user without the plaster, he stopped that dude. Without the plaster that dude never was able to give any top fighter a real fight ever again. Shane ko'd him, Pac tortured him, and he had to take a break from boxing.

    How he looks now.:blood

Cotto is 100x the man you are, has done more than you'll ever do, is wealthier than you will ever be and hasn't been rejected by most of his family.
