Mijares will win this fight unless it goes to the scorecards, where the judges love to **** him over. I'd take him to likely stop Donaire anyway. If not a stoppage, then a clear Decision win, which the judges will make an SD, possibly in Donaire's favor.
Mijares SD or close UD type of fight not a robbery SD. A really close fight where some of the rounds can go either way, but most people would judge in Mijares' favour
Donaire is overrated and I see him getting outboxed by Mijares ... a guy like Donaire is just waiting to get knocked out ... he got his fame off beating a much overrated Darchinyan and he took on that title of being overrated in the process. I don't see him being a factor and thats why there's not much buzz around him.
Donaire also completely dominated and then knocked out Maldonaldo in a very easy fight, while Maldonaldo took Mijares to a draw and according to Donaire (believe what you will), he wasn't even 100% for that fight
mijares is on a high now after beating munoz while donaire's inactivity leaves so much to be desired from him. i would pick mijares to win if they fight.
Donaire is a knockout puncher, while Mijares is a boxer ... it would be easier to knock out Donaire than outbox Mijares. KO punchers always run the risk of getting knocked out -- It hard to base seperate performances on how they would match up against each other ... because they have two different styles.
anyone listen to the donaire interview on boxingherald.com recently? he wants to fight he even said he is willing to go on the undercard of Kirilov vs Darchinyan but his manager refused. They are having a hard time finding him good fights that will go through.
I agree that styles makes fights but at a certain point ability makes fights too. Donaire didn't just knock out Maldonaldo he pretty much dominated every round.
