    wasnt exposed but certainly overrated

Overrated: Being rated more highly by a majority than what they really are.

yeah its always possible...but if Mijares gets intimidated again once he tastes Vics punches, he's gonna suffer the same fate over and over again..now we know he cant hurt Vic, his chances is to dance his way to the last round. its all mental.

    It's hardly puzzling.

He was outclassed by a stronger more determined foe who had his way with him.

 Christ I'm NOT a fan of Katsidis!

Yep, definitely wrong move there. He tried to slug it out with the slugger and got destroyed. Props to Darchinyan, though, great effort and determination he showed.

I tend to agree on this comment. Only way to redeem himself is to win by KO over vic..

Vic should likewise win by KO over Donaire.

Vic's style just mowed Mijares down, Plain & Simple.
    (Watch Cotto Vs. Margarito)

I picked Mijares to walk thru Darchinyan, I was defo humbled by Vic.

Darchinyan had Mijares' timing down and showed vastly improved defense. He also shortened up on his punches.

Mijares was all wrong in his attempts to duck inside towards Darchinyan. The left hands by Darchinyan were finding an easy mark all night.

I thought Mjiares would give Darchinyan problems and picked him to win. Suprisingly easy victory for Darchinyan.

I knew Vic had him in the beginning. Mijarez came out all smiling and over confident... I didn't see the 'eye of the tiger' from him in the introductions. Vic had it. Mijarez was also way out of his comfort zone fighting such an unorthodox boxer. Great fight though. I thought if Mijarez lasted longer, he would have possibly worn down Vic in the 11 and 12 rounds and possibley could have scored a KD... Vic started to look winded, but held on to get the KO.

He got a taste of Vics's power early and didn't like it. Not to mention he fought a dumb fight and doesn't have a high boxing IQ. In all I think he was way over hyped and started to believe his own hype and when he had to back it up he couldn't.

i think it's becuase how wild and defencless vic is while how skilled talented and damn good mijares was you would of thought the boxer won.

nonito donaire is a good fighter but no one thought he could outbox or hurt vic then in 1 left hook counter darchie had lost all the momentum of a destroyer and became an exposeble easy to beat opponant....this was more a case of how a underated darchie was instead of how overated mijares was.

from a gym tech aspect. southpaws vs southpaws the more aggresive southpaw wins almost every time. the jab goes rigth down the pipe and the left cross is unmissable.

the defence is areally askew when 2 southpaws fight. the guard always is on the wrong side.

    dawson-tarver
    juama-deleon
    deleon-nongyangtoy II
    pernell-ramirez
    winky-vazquez
    boza edwards-comacho

the more you throw the more these shots get through as the defence is so open. it's not in the right alignment.
stuff like jabbing is awkard as your are almost punching behind your back in a different direction.
and moving you got to move to your left as the left cross/hand goes over the shoulder and can land flush on the jaw.
inside work is minimal becuase southpaw inside work is based on moving to the left while clamping or blocking the left hand and then letting go withe the left hand...this is typical against a orthy opponant. this is an example of what it looks like> \ /
but against a southpaw you end up running into the right hand quicker so it means you have squared yourself up or have no space to throw. alot of headbutts i notice aswell.

point is that mijares should of been more agresive which he did try to be but go tdumped he should of just thrown anything 3-5 punches would of landed. keep that jab pumping and clinching. vic wouldnt of been able to come foreward at will and not been able ot bully him.

can't believe someone compared Mijares' resume to Lacy's?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

unbelievable, he's only 27 and has got more than enough time to get back up there. Yeah, he lost pretty much every round, but it was his arrogance in the first round, standing right next to Vic and getting hit with THAT uppercut that robbed him of his confidence and his strength. I think he did pretty well to last until the 9th under that kind of punishment, and give him a decent chance of beating anyone in the superfly division.

Anyone who say his schooling over Arce and win over Munoz (who I wouldn't nessecarily say Vic could beat, though I'd pick him against Arce) knows Mijares was not overrated.

Vic just fought a really good fight, surprised me completely, and I congratulate him on a fantastic win over who was, before Vic got there, a definite and legitimate P4P top 10 entrant.
