    Barely scraped past Mago?

That fight wasn't close, clear 9-3, with Perez dominating after the 6th.

Also someone mentioned Perez and Fury have fought? Is this true?

    Makes sense.

Tye fields is hardly elite though.

Wasn't sure if they had fought as amatuers or something.

Should be interesting to see how Mike bouces back from the Mago fight. Never seen this Takam guy fight before, so I have no idea what he brings to the table.

    They've spared a few times.

Takam is no world beater but i would give him a decent shot of pulling off the upset here.

As it is i'd still say 75-25 in Mike's favour.

    He's abysmal.

He lost to Gregory Tony, FFS. (chinny Euro contender who made an unsuccessful transition after having a bit of success in kickboxing)

Uh, not even remotely, that's just sad, biased hate speech. I don't think Fury is the next big thing, but he did beat 3 clear top 20 HW's, Chisora (borderline top 10, Johnson and Cunningham. Chisora beat 2 top 20 HW's Helenius (top 5 at the time, although he was robbed of the credit), and Scott. Abdusalamov was a borderline top 30 guy, and he barely beat him. Wilder hasn't beaten anyone better than that, I'll give you, but they're overall opponents are very close and Wilder has been much more dominant that Perez. So, Fury Chisora and Wilder should, at this point, be clearly rated above Perez by any rational person. If Perez easily beats Takam, then he deserves to go into the top 15 and maybe above Wilder. Until then, only irrational people who want to put the most exciting fighters ahead of the most proven fighters will be putting him above those people.

    Takam isn't that bad, IB.

Every boxer is bound to have a bad night once in a while.

If a hockey star doesn't score, we forgive him.
If a baseball hitter goes 0 for 4, we forgive him.
If a top pitcher gets bombed in the early innings, we soon forgive him.
If a basketball star has an off night, it's quickly forgotten.

When a boxer has a bad night, why are fans so unforgiving?

I might be crazy but I think Perez is the second best heavyweight in the world right now.
