This is a funny subject because Ali once stated that he wouldn't be able to beat Tyson. They both seem to think the other is superior. 20 yr old Tyson was a lot more focused and confident than the late 20's/30's Tyson. So I don't think there would be any lack of focus on Tyson's part. But of course we'll never know

Ali didn't mean that. He was just being a gentleman. Like Tyson is now. Put those two guys in the ring together in their primes and you'd see how they really feel.

Well, to be fair, the interviewer foolishly asked about them fighting with both at the age of twenty. Tyson was the 29-0 WBA/WBC champ at age twenty, while Ali was only a 14-0 prospect at that point whose best win was over billion year old Archie Moore.

The question asked was how a 20yr old Tyson would do against a 20 yr old Cassius Clay. That fight I think Tyson would be able to beat Clay. Clay had some rough fights against below average opposition as he was just getting into his own still. I'd pick 20 yr old Tyson vs 20 yr old Clay no problem.

Something is seriously wrong with tyson. Why is he all fluttery and eccentric? He's always waving his hands like a crack head and fake laughing. He's either super coked up or just has brain damage.

but yeah, Ali TKO RD 2

    Brilliant :good

Tyson has massive respect for the legends of the game, particularly Ali... he always gives Muhammad Ali his due as the best ever HW.

    Tyson is a legend.

Nah, when was the last time Ali was ever sparked ?... & lesser boxers have went 12 with a peak Tyson. Both at their best Ali wins on points, the lateral movement & footspeed in general, the sudden changes of direction would have Tyson stopping to reset his attacks constantly... & the long jab would be in Mike`s face for the whole 12/15.

I`m not one of those guys that thinks Tyson would fold mentally at his best just because he did when past prime, I think prime Tyson is a top 5 all time HW & stylewise could give Ali a really tough fight but vice versa is also true, I think Ali has thee perfect style & abilities to handle & beat Tyson.

The Ali of 64-67 would be favourite over any HW that ever lived, even peak Tyson. Great fight though.

True, Although he was outclassed by Mike, Tillis frusted him just with his movement.

    :good

Yep, and Muhammad Ali could magnify that **** by 3 times + wouldn`t be folding anywhere near as easy as Tillis either.... completely different level of boxer, Ali could certainly keep that up & more all night long.

They were both lighter heavys. I think mike even had better foot work an was better with his legs. Sitting on shots from all angles. Stupid hnd speed. power. head movement. I can see mike slipping his jab an hurting him. Yeah foreman an frazier were great n powerful but i think mike would be a problem for him.

Nothing i said is fact an my opinion means ****. I just think mike had too good of a combination, speed, power, angles, foot work. i hate th comparison of "well if frazier could do it tyson could".. I think Mike had better skills than frazier. either way ali is the best heavy ever n much respect to him

It would be a very good if not great fight, Mike Tyson vs Muhammad Ali, and it's still most certainly ranks as the highest grossing PPV/CCT dream fight in boxing history and we reasonable hardcore fight fans know there's plenty of them to go around.

As far as how the fight would go if it actually happened Mike would most definitely have his moments early on in the first four or five rounds but once he starts to tire in the mid-rounds then Muhammad would take over and open up on him the same way he did the young undefeated/invincible George Foreman who was also known to tire late in fights during that stage of his career, but Tyson's style would be more suited for Ali to take advantage of in this particular scenario and the fact that Ali was not just a great all around fighter but a great 15-round fighter as opposed to Tyson who was just barely a very good 12-round fighter at best would play well into Ali's favor.

End result; Ali by a late tko, 14th or 15th round.
