    Damn...Ward first up.

I would have preferered Froch, Abraham or Taylor to tell the truth.

This tournament is a really nice idea but i think everyones living in dream land to think it will pan out the way it does when you write the 'fixtures' on paper, there is just too many intangibles involved for basically a 2 year tournament of fights.

What if a fighter gets injured and is out for a long time as often happens ??
What if 6 months into the tournament, Calzaghe decides he wants to come back and face Froch or re-match Kessler ??
What if 6 months into the tournament, Hopkins or Pavlik come up with a huge money offer to face one of the guys involved ??

Far too many things can go wrong with an idea like this and no fighter is stupid enough to sign a multi fight deal without having cash guarantees that are rock solid. If the fighters are not signing a multi fight deal then they can just leave the tournament when they want to and go against a fighter that is offering them more money. From a business point of view this tournament would make no sense to a fighter but it is a fight fans dream ....

I think you are being overly negative. It really doesn't matter if it doesn't go exactly to plan. If we get a number of these individual matchups out of the so called 'tournament' then that is preferable to some of the garbage mandatories and one sided fights we often see.

Top stuff, all Sauerland fights are shown free on German satellite channels, so looks like lots more free boxing.
