Are u off ur head mate?!?! Mundine the same ?!?! As if you can honestly say Clavero and Acosta arent talented ?!?! :tong Yea its a shame about Choc.... I can only dream of what he could do.... I honestly believe hes a chance of beating guys like Calzaghe and Pavlik... Shame it wont ever happen
That's because Dawson made him look like **** you moron! And you know NOTHING about boxing if you're trying to compare Dawson to Lacy. Lacy is one dimensional as all hell.
You do realize that Kessler and Calzaghe are both Super Middleweights right? Neither of them has fought at light heavy YET.
I would give Kessler the edge if Dawson was an orthodox fighter. But I think that Kessler has problems with southpaw's. Dawson UD.
Thats another thing. Dawson's chin is not up to much. So if Kessler lands one of those right hands clean it could cause damage.
He has fought two - beat Beyer KO and lost a close one to Calzaghe - how you sum that up to problems with southpaws is beyond me. I'll give Kessler the edge versus Dawson - but I doubt this will happen - and I don't think it makes much sence atm. Kessler is SMW and has division to clear and a name to make. Dawson is no where near topdog in LHW - once Kessler has gotten his belts back and hopefully made a name for himself in the US and Dawson has proved he can beat a top contender (not Ruiz/Mendoza) - then the fight will be a fight to be made. At this point I see little sence in it. It simply wouldn't generate the attention it deserves. But in 2009 - who knows
i like dawson, very good fighter to watch with good abilty. more questions to be answered about dawson though than there is about kessler. ruiz and mendoza and harding were around 100 ranked in the world and adamek win was good but adaemk was very lethargic in that fight as he was again last week and its possible the briggs wars have taken a lot out of him , just as they have taken there toll on briggs. johnson will tell us a lot. johnson can be easily outboxed , but he is a hard man to keep off and dawson should be tested. if dawson can win going away, coming through any rough patches then all questioning of his abilty should stop.
The trouble with southpaw's is surmised by the fact he had no idea what to do when Calzaghe was pumping out his jab. Not a clue he was jabing at Calzaghe's jab. You just cant do that he should have been throwing lead straight right hands. It was not the way to fight a southpaw and if you look at the fight as soon as Joe adapted and knew what to do Kessler had no answer. If he works on throwing a lead straight right and more body work I would give him the go ahead against Dawson
And he got up and recovered fast from those knockdowns. Muhammad Ali was often knocked down early in his career and he's known to have a great chin. I'm not saying Dawson's chin is good as Ali's, but really he's never been testest yet. People got this impression that Dawson has a bad chin from that knock down in the Harding fight, so really it isn't fair to say he has a bad chin.
The thing is Dawson is too skilled for Kessler. I don't know how Kessler is going to adopt to Dawson's style when that right jab and straight left will be on his face all night. Anyways this fight won't happen anytime soon. He still has to face Glen Johnson and Adrian Diaconu, two fighters that will be tough as Kessler, and one of them being a puncher, so this will answer the critics of Dawson's bad chin. Once (or if) he beats those guys, I'm pretty sure you will be convinced that Dawson can beat Kessler.
You picked Green to beat Mundine and you expect people to take your opinion on boxing seriously? Dawson is a fast 6'3 southpaw with great footwork, balance and combination punching, you can see the guy has character and the desire to fight the best, whta is there not to like? The people saying that he is chinny don't know what the hell they're talking about, against Harding he was knocked off balance by a jab, against Adamek he was caught flush after getting complacent, got up looking embarassed, not hurt at all and got right back into it. Pernell Whitaker got knocked down occasionally, was he chinny? A guy who is chinny is a guy whose legs get shaky every time he is touched, for example Zab Judah. Mark my words, one day Chad Dawson is gonna be p4p number 1.
