Pavlik should think twice before taking this fight. Mora could duck and Pavlik may end up fighting someone like Spinks.

Mora's looking for the biggest payday he can get since any decent contender would spark him, but hats off to him for having the balls to step in with KP. Hope he hands his family and friends a few dollars for the flowers, cards ect they'll need to bring to the hospital for when he wakes up...

He'll find a way to pull out of the contract.

Mora would be earning a fat paycheck against Pavlik, but as they say "you can't take it with you".

Mora DLH makes a lot of sense to me. Fight in LA, it'd be huge. Oscar should go for it and retire.

Actually Mora DID mention Oscar as well. I would actually like that. Big showcase for Oscar in LA. Oscar retires with a belt on him, and Mora gets to live!

i think mora needs to stay away from pavlik. pavlik to fight king arthur and mora to fight duddy are much more suitable fights.

Pavlik’s co-manager, Cameron Dunkin, when asked whether a Calzaghe-Pavlik bout is unlikely, said Tuesday evening that it “looks like it.”

But he said a Pavlik-Mora match isn’t certain, either.

“Nothing’s done yet [about Mora],” Dunkin said.

“[Mora’s] one of the names, but he’s under contract [for a mandatory rematch after beating Forrest for the WBC junior middleweight title].”

Mora beat Forrest the same night Pavlik stopped Lockett in his first title defense.

“Nothing for sure,” Dunkin said of a possible Pavlik-Mora fight next.

“He’s just one of four people we’re talking to, so I don’t know what’s going to happen yet. Nothing is concrete yet.”

Dunkin would only say that Antonio Rubio of Mexico is one of the other three possible Pavlik opponents in the running.

I would prefer Rubio myself. He's tough, experienced, and he can bang a bit. That fight might allow Kelly to learn something. Mora or duddy would be beatings only slightly more competetive than Lockett.

He is the only one out of the ones mentioned I would have concerns about.

If it's Rubio, it will likely happen in Cleveland. To make it even sweeter, AA v Marquez in the co-main event.

Little misleading thread title. It infers that Pavlik offered the fight to Mora and Mora took it. Title should have been "Mora willing to fight Pavlik, if given the change".

Mora has no power so he must be able to box as he has a few good wins on his resume. Pavlik was lucky to win the first Taylor fight, he was down and was being outboxex before he landed with the big shot. Maybe Mora would be able to stay away from Pavlik and win the rounds thro' boxing skills. I doubt he could win but you never know.

He's thought he could beat Pavlik all along. He's been saying this for years now. He thinks there's a stylistic flaw he can exploit.
