Which performance was more impressive to you: Calzaghe's or Ward's?

Calzaghe... are you kidding me? Zaghe was getting outboxed for the first 2-3 rounds but he made such great adjustments and completely outboxed Kessler after that.

Kessler was UNDEFEATED at the time and was a favorite going in

Kessler/Ward..... ended in a cuts victory due to Ward's heatbutts. It could have been accidental but at least 3 of them looked like purposeful billygoat headbutts.

Yes Kessler was a huge favorite going into it also.. still.. you could see he was a lot better in the Calzaghe fight.

Although Ward was winning with his boxing genius, a lot of it had to do with Kessler's face being completely ****ed up with the headbutts.

Not a big JC fan but JC's win over Kessler is one of the best wins in SMW in recent memory. For Ward is was an excellent win, but not quite the same when the same opponent was younger and undefeated.

comparing apples to oranges. yes Calzaghe beat a prime Kessler but that doesn't make his victory that much greater than Wards. Ward beat a past prime, but still good version of Kessler with EASE and didn't lose a round. let's not forget he was an underdog. he did what he was supposed to do and exceeded expectations.

i'd say their victories are about even. i think Ward is the better fighter and will accomplish way more tho.

The fact that Calzaghe adjusted and won makes it more impressive, however Ward beat him from start to finish

Kessler was younger, but Ward a huge underdog

It honestly just depends on how much u respected "prime" Kessler, and how much u think certain things like "Ward's headbutts" really made a difference... Obviously complete bull****, but that's up to u

Kessler was flat from the opening bell against Ward. Never got into any kind of rhythm. He looked a totally different fighter from the one that we saw in the early rounds of the Calzaghe fight and had none of the sharpness he had then, and none of the desperate desire to win he exhibited in the later rounds of the Calzaghe fight.

The question then is, was it a case of Kessler simply not showing up for the Ward fight and performing badly or was it that Ward's style was a bad match up for him and made him look bad? I couldn't answer that.

Kessler was the underdog, an I think by a good deal

But joe fought the much more game fighter, an i thought looked better in his fight, main reason being, is Kessler had a heart of lion in this fight.....

Ward would not of broke Kessler as joe did, it's like lacy, people just can't grasp, joe calzaghe broke a great fighter in lacy, ATG? NO, but a great fighter who would of made a much better career move if he sayed away from joe...
